If you are looking for an energy efficient washing machine which cleans as well as a front loader then this is the washing machine! I first bought the latest LG steam washing machine from Home Depot and it shook my house apart as my laundry room is on the first floor. After trying to calm the LG thing down with shock absorber Kellett pads, plywood and reinforcement wood under the floor in the basement, I finally gave up! The LG cleaned well and was energy efficient but the last 8 minutes of the cycle at 1200RPM vibrated my house apart. After much research on the internet (just google vibration problems with LG machines) I finally called the Home Depot Assist. Mgr and begged him nicely to take it back. I was past the 30 day notice (since my original salesmen said it was not returnable...and LG customer service was of no help at all). In fact LG sent a service rep out to look at it...with no clothes, he tested it and said it was fine although it was vibrating the floor. That was the end of LG's help. The service rep did say he would have recommended the Whirlpool Cabrio next time! He said "Whirpool is also much easier to deal with than LG". So thank goodness for the nice Home Depot mgr. who took it back. Unfortunately the dept. sales guy told me that I had to deliver it to Home Depot. Terrific! My husband and I loaded it into our car and returned it with no difficulty. Since HD does not own their own delivery, I decided to go to Best Buy and purchase the Whirlpool Cabrio since they could pick it up if it shook my house! Best Buy delivered the Cabrio and all I can say is this 3 month ordeal is over! I love this machine. It's not the old inefficient agitator and it's not the front loader that shakes a floor apart! It spins at 1000RPM and no vibration!! It also cleans just as well, uses less water and I don't have to leave the door open and take the soap tray out to avoid mold! . Some people have complained about wrinkled clothes...but it wrinkles them no more than the front loader! Plus the dryer fixes that! I recommend this product with 5 stars!!!!

After much debate our family of 5 settled on this washer. Our previous washer died after 5 years. This washer can wash big loads, it cleans well, and conserves on electricity, detergent, and water. It cleans clothes the best I've had over the many years of other washers. The spin cycle, gets a lot of water out of clothes, so drying time is vastly reduced. The controls are complex and we got the setting wrong a few times for lighter loads using the heavy cycle and the clothes get twisted, but since learning the proper srttings the clothes are now clean and fine. The cleaning times are about 20% longer than my old washer, but is compensated with cleaning much larger loads, and cleaner clothes and towels. It also cleans very large blankets and comforters. The installers recommended that I get a transient/electrical protector on the washer as the contol panel has sophisticated sensors and computer chips. I'm glad I listened, I treated it like my TV set, placing a 2100 joules protector in-line. It seems the circuit protection helped us avoid and repairs due to overvoltages as the protector has faulted twice now prior to a mojor outage with no damage to the washer. I'd have to say this machine is worth the money and extra circuit protection, after several months of use, it has saved us several hundred dollars.

I bought this washer after much debate over getting a front loader. I didn't want to have the pay the extra cost to get the pedestols for the front loader and heard they require a lot more attention to avoid getting a mildew smell. So I felt this was a great compromise. It is huge on the inside, huge! It has a lot of settings to chose from and I really do like it a lot. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because there are a few things I can't figure out and it might not even be anything wrong with the washer, I just can't figure it out. First, I wish it did fill with more water. But it supposedly has a sensor for how much water it needs. It is supposed to be a feautre of not using so much water, but it's been hard for me to get used to. There aren't much suds in the washer, that also is a characteristic though of the HE detergent and washers. It's just not something I've been able to get used to. And third my clothes come out very dry. Like you can tell they were wet, but either they aren't getting enough water in the wash cycle or the spin cycle is just that affective that is makes them that much less wet coming out. These are not reasons however to not buy this washer. I have just been used to the good old fashion ones that take twice as much water and get your clothes extremely sudsy. I would recommend this washer and I love the dryer too. I bought the extended warranty for best buy offered the best price out of any other seller. I also got two years no int. on a best buy card and got 10% off the dryer. I am extremely pleased with my purchase, the price, and my payment options and would recommend Best Buy and this washer to anyone.

Nice Washer

I bought this washer because I purchased the gas Cabrio dryer at 1/2 price from Lowes a couple of months ago. It did such a great job, I just had to have the matching washer.
Washer works great, seems to clean clothes well and heavier items, too. The capacity is huge....it held a queen size comforter well. I assume the wash cycles are longer than a traditional washer because less water is used...the "quick wash" setting is the shortest at 38 minutes. That was the longest time on my old Maytag washer. I mentioned quiet: a mere hum is all it makes during the spin cycle!
I've had the Cabrio for three weeks and so far, it seems that I made a great decision with this purchase.

We purchased this washer 12/06. I love the capacity and it does a great job cleaning our clothes. We are a family of 6 and do tons of laundry. I love that I can do a small load of delicates or a huge load of towels and they all look and smell cleaner than the old washer we had. Then the trouble started. In the first year we had the machine it had the dreaded code F51 twice. This required a service tech come out and replace parts to fix it. Then starting in 1/08 we had the same F51 code three times all requireing a service call and the same exact parts being replaced, mind you by the last service call these parts had been replaced 5 times. Then about a day after the last service call we got an F50 error. According to Whirlpool this is the same problem as with the F51 error code. Thank goodness we have an extended warranty on this item!! The store we originally purchased the machine from has given us a store credit to purchase a new machine.

I bought this Cabrio Washer (last year's model) on clearance. It is totally awesome. My model has a solid lid, the new ones have a clear lid and I see why. Sometimes, I just have to go to it and push pause and left the lid to see what's going on becasue it's so quiet I love this machine. It loves large loads of laundry (small loaded sometimes get tangled but not too bad). I can wash like 8 or 9 pairs of jeans at once. It wrings the clothes so good that drying time is decreased big time. I wouldn't trade this for any other washer.

I do love this machine, I've had it for 2 years now without any issues. I only use the HE liquid detergent and never had any problems with it being stuck on my clothes. Although it does hold a pretty good size load of laundry, you can overfill it and it will not clean them as well. I have learned to wash items (like jeans) that need to soak up more water, on the "Bulky items" cycle and it seems to get them clean a lot better. I like the delay cycle so that I can set my clothes to start washing at a later time; it also has a cleaning cycle that it recommends to use once a month with bleach to refresh the tub so it doesn't get that sour smell, so far mine has been odor-free; and it also lets me know if I can still "add a garment" to the wash cycle.

Worst Purchase Decision Ever

I purchased this washer, along with the matching dryer, a little over a year ago and I absolutely HATE them.
The washer never really gets the clothes fully clean and sometimes there are dry spots on the clothes even after washing them.
Because of the agitation feature the clothes come out of the washer tangled in an almost unmanageable mess.
In addition, I had only owned the washer for a few months when I received an error message. A part had gone bad on the washer. It had to be ordered and installed which meant I was without a washer for a couple of weeks.
Another thing I have noticed is that all of towels are being almost torn apart. Every towel I own has strings all over them where the washer is pulling on them.
I thought I was treating myself to a luxury washer and dryer when I bought this set. If someone would offer me my old washer and dryer I would take them back in a heartbeat.
The dryer has issue as well but they are not as bed.
Do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this washer and dryer set.

I've had this washing machine for about 15 months. We do anywhere from 4 to 6 loads a week. The machine saves water. What is great is that the spin cycle removes most of the water so the clothes are almost dry. Drying time is cut to less than half. Clothes come out clean & fresh smelling. I like the fact that we save water & electricity.
We have had no problems except an occasional unbalanced load that shuts down the system. We simply redistribute the load and press start.
We were able to get a 5 year warranty thru Best Buy. Hopefully we will not need it. So far, so good.
Buy this machine- you will not go wrong.

This washer will handle pretty much anything you can dish out. We have not had to use it as much as we thought we would because it allows for ridiculously large loads and the steam dryer keeps up pretty well. On occasion you may have to add some time to completely dry jeans. The basket will sometimes splash and water along with detergent will escape through the top to the interior wall of the washer and leak onto the floor. We had a service tech come out and he said it happens and he is not a huge fan of the Cabrio. I still am so far. Not all that concerned about the leak as it sits on concrete and the most water I've seen on the floor is 15-20 drops.
Would not recommend if Laundry floor is not waterproof....i.e. concrete, tile, lanoleum, etc.

I bought this washer along with the matching dryer last August from Lowes. I put it to the test by washing 30 towels along with wash cloths and hand towels. It was amazing, I actually stood there to see exactly how the washer worked. There is no agitator in the middle and the water comes up from the bottom, no matter how high your clothes are, the water still comes up to wash them all. My whites are super white and i just love this machine. The front load washers are not as big so I think its a great buy.

I purchased a Cabrio in 9/06 for home use. I liked it enough to purchase another one in 3/07 for use at my small animal clinic. In 4/07 my home Cabrio broke and it took more than a month to get the computer board that was defected. In 4/08 the computer board in the clinic Cabrio went out-this time only 3 weeks to repair. Now I'm told by the service man sent by Whirpool that the ENTIRE WASHER IS RUSTED OUT AND IT IS NOT REPAIRABLE-HE TOLD ME HE HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE- it is ONLY 18 MONTHS OLD. Whirpool will not cover it since I am using it in a commercial setting. I been told by several service supervisors that the 3 loads of towels we wash per day is considered extraordinary use. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE AND GOOD FOR 17 MONTHS OF USE!!

We had a neptune washer and dryer and had the mold issue and never got in on the settlement. I couldn't handle the smell anymore. Even though salespeople told us front loaders have changed I still wasn't buying that idea. I fell in love with this washer. No agitator to twist clothes around, the water actually does it (its pretty cool to watch a cycle start :)). The tub capacity is huge and I can wash a full load of just jeans (about 10 pair) and not have problems other washers would have carrying such a bulky load. Impressed with it every time I use it!!!

I'd never buy this brand of washer again. I had it for 1 year 1 day and the drain pump quit working in the middle of a cycle. I had bought the extended warranty, for $129, but a machine shouldn't break down after a year. When the Geek Squad repairman got to my house to fix the washer, he said because of the way the machine was made, I was going to have to take all the soaking wet clothes out and bail the water out before he could work on it. I'm soaked and so are my floors. Somewhere down the road, we'll be replacing the vinyl tile on the laundry room floor as well.

This washer is amazing! I can pick what type of load I have and the washer sets the temps for me! I get an alarm when the load is complete, I have the option for a second rinse, and the load size is huge... I used to spend days trying to wash all the laundry we accumulate and now I can wash almost all the clothes in my house in four loads!

PLAIN AND SIMPLE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. IT WORKS FOR A SHORT TIME, BUT THEN THE ERROR CODES START AND IT IS COSTLY AND A WASTE OF TIME TO WAIT FOR A REPAIR. WHO CAN TAKE TIME OFF NOW TO WAIT ON A REPAIRMAN OF A WASHER LESS THAN 1 1/2 YRS OLD TO COME, WHEN YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO.
I WISH I HAD MY GRANDMOTHERS OLD WASH BY HAND, RUN THRU TO WRINGER WASHER, YOU DIDNT EVEN HAVE TO PLUG IT IN AND IT WORKED....

Worst Washer/Dryer

We built our home in 06' and I thought i'd " treat " myself to what I thought was a high end washer/dryer.
After using both machines for only a few short months, I realized that I didn't get near what I paid for.
The washer twists clothes into knots and has even caused my towels to come apart.
The washer also tends to leave a residue of detergent on the clothes, requiring additional washes - so where's the savings ?
I'm not sure how this would happen - but clothes have come out of the water with stains / spots on them. My white bathrobe came out with dark spots when washed with other whites. My green bath towels came out with " bleach " spots when no bleach had been used.
I've tried to use the bulky items selection on the washer but it will always go to unbalance causing me multiple trips to the machine to untwist and balance the load.
My only complaint about the dryer is that it twists clothes all together and causes sheets to end up in a giant ball - but it does dry them.
The unfortunate thing is that my kitchen came with " upgraded " Whirlpool stainless steel appliances ... and they are JUNK too.... NEVER AGAIN will I purchase Whirlpool appliances.

I purchased the Cabrio so I could cut down on the laundry mat trips to wash comforters. This does the job. The 4.6 CU FT. will hold one king size comforter. I bought the matching set about a year ago and it's not let me down yet! I would recommend this set to any of my friends.

Horrible Washing Machine

I bought this machine 13 months ago. It has displayed an error code of F1. Because it is out of warranty, I have been told that it will cost more than it is worth to fix it, therefore, I have to unplug and replug it in at least three times before it will work again. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again.
