Customers are delighted by the dishwasher's quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance, frequently praising its capacity and ease of use. However, some users noted that the wash cycles are lengthy, and a few expressed concerns about the utensil holder design. The stainless steel interior and tub were also frequently cited as positive features.

I bought this dishwasher to replace my 19 year old dishwasher. I was looking for a quite, stainless steel unit (inside and out) with a large capacity. This unit had all three. This was one of the only units that still has a heated dry feature. I read the reviews on line and made my decision. The delivery was on time. The guys removed the old unit, set up the new one, and showed all the features. They were in and out within an hour! This unit is SUPER QUIET. You have to put your ear to the unit just to hear anything. Dishes and glasses come out great. Another thing that I like about the unit is that the buttons are on the FRONT, not on the top .

Love it! American made, very good quality, super quiet, washes and dries extremely well, highly efficient. At first I struggled to determine proper settings since booklet wasn't making sense to me.
At first I thought I had a dud - turns out it was just too quiet. It was running but made no noise unless we put our ear to door. Indicator light on right edge lets you know if it is on.
Requires no rinsing of dishes, washes perfectly and dries well. Very pleased with this purchase. Excellent installation crew.

We had to get a new diswasher because our old one "died" after 17 years of use. After reading a lot of reviews on several different brands I was nervous about purchasing a new one. It seemed that most dishwashers leaked or didn't clean well. Whirlpool seemed to be the only brand that didn't have the negative reviews. I have been using it for about a month now and I am very happy with it. My dishes are clean and it is so quiet you can barely hear it.

I didn't want a new dishwasher, but was forced to replace our 15+ year one since it just wore out. It was also a Whirlpool Gold and though I looked at other brands, decided to go with what I knew since it seemed to have all I wanted/needed and the reviews were very good. This isn't a basic model nor does it have all the bells and whistles of some others, but I'm someone who just wants it to perform well and maybe give me a couple of extra options. I bought it in white to match my other appliances, but I love the stainless steel interior. It looks nice but also doesn't show discoloration if you wash something with tomato sauce, etc. which may show some staining as my old model did. I was hoping for it to clean good, but it exceeds my expectations. My dishes haven't been this clean in years. Even tea stains on some of the glassware and flatware I have were gone after one washing. Somehow, even though it takes up the same space as the old DW, it has more room inside and I'm able to get more dishes in per load in both the top and bottom racks. I have no problems with it drying, but also keep it on the heat dry mode. I use the sensor function most often for it to detect the actual level of cleaning needed. My husband just asked last night how the DW was working and I responded, "Excellent! It's the best purchase we've made in quite some time."

Great dishwasher. Can't believe how clean it gets my dishes. Previous dishwasher wasn't working very well, leaving dishes not to clean, needing to be hand cleaned after being in the dishwasher. This dishwasher not only has cleaned my dishes to my expectations and above but has also made my glasses looking almost like new again. Can't believe how quiet it is, sometimes I am not sure if it is even on.

I bought this to replace a factory defective Samsung unit that cost about the same. (The defective Samsung damaged my wood floors). This Whirlpool unit was much easier to install since the rear of the unit actually has wheels to just roll it in place. The front has easily adjustable legs. I like the front controls - everything I like and nothing extra. It does have a control lock option so little kids don't turn it on. My only complaint is that the max height to the bottom of the counter is 34 1/2". Our counters are almost an inch higher, so I had to put shims under the unit. I think this is a common problem with all dishwashers - they are only made for very standard cabinet heights.

Absolutely love this dishwasher. So quiet I wouldn't know it was running if not for the blue lights. Everything comes out sparkling. It has resurrected some old glassware. Value for the price is fantastic. Could have spent additional for features I would probably never use. Bottom line it does exactly what I paid for. Cycles are a bit long though - only real drawback if you consider it one.

Best appliance I ever purchased

This is the best appiance I ever purchased. We have owned seven dishwashers in four houses we lived in over the last 40 years. This is a beautiful machine. It does everything to perfection. I have never gotten my dishes, glassware and flatware so bright and clean before-especially with hard water in Wisconsin. GE was the absolute worst, Viking and KitchenAid were good but not as good as this Whirlpool. It is very nice looking too and the stainless steel interior not only looks great but the addtional heat retention helps dry the load too. The price was very good and Best Buy ran a special for $19.99 to install and take away your old machine. The installation team was very good too. Everyone should buy this machine.

The flatware holder on the door does give more space but learned not to overload. Heater for drying has been wonderful and why I bought this one. Also not a lot of varied functions but I found I did not use them last time I bought a high end dishwasher so I decided to go with features I use often and purchased whirlpool . 500.00 on sale does not stink at all.
Like it so far.
Would have liked adjustable racks but rarely used that feature. I do find pots and cookie sheets fit just fine.
Why pay for bells and whistles you do not use. I learned that lesson well. Think about what you use it for and make a list of the things that are necessary and you will find the right fit too.

Great Dishwasher, So Quiet!

Our previous GE dishwasher started to leak. After 10 years and three repairs, it was time to throw the towel in and get a new one. I did research new model GEs as we were happy with the brand, read reports on various dishwashers on BestBuy.com and on ConsumerReports.com.
Best Buy had this Whirlpool dishwasher on closeout, and the reviews on both BestBuy.com and on ConsumerReport.com were favorable and raved about how quiet the machine was.
Ordered online and had it shipped to me. Unfortunately, they don't tell you in the description that you need to buy a separate power cord for the machine, as it does not come with one. One trip to Home Depot and $6 later I had a cord. Started installation, and you need an L-shaped fitting for the waterline as well. One more trip to Home Depot and $15 later, I had a full replacement waterline and L-shaped fitting (it was recommended I replace the stainless steel waterline every 10 years at Home Depot, figured this was the perfect opportunity).
Installation was pretty simple (once I had all the additional parts - Note to Whirlpool, I would have paid $50 more for the machine if it had the power cord and waterline fittings included so I could hook it up as soon as it arrived!) and was up and running in no time.
This machine is so quiet, I wasn't sure it was working at first. Our GE machine was strictly a 'we're off to bed, we can put the dishwasher on now' type deal, where it was so loud you could hardly have a conversation when it was on! The Whirlpool is incredibly quiet, almost unbelievably so! Can turn it on any time of the day and watch TV/have conversations etc (open plan living area) without any distraction at all.
It cleans very well, dries very well (but make sure you use rinse aid otherwise it will NOT dry well at all!). Don't know if it's a marketing gimmick or what, as our previous machine did not need rinse aid. However, for $2 a bottle, it does a nice job of cleaning and drying the dishes, so I don't have a complaint there at all. Overall, very happy with this purchase.
PROs:
Quiet, efficient, well made, did I mention it was quiet?
CONs:
No power cable, or L-shaped fitment to attach the waterline, inconvenient, but not a deal breaker.

We picked this dish washer for three reasons:
The wife hates stainless steel exteriors on appliances because of the fingerprint issues, but the stainless steel interior is great.
This dishwasher seems to have more room and a better layout than comparable Bosh, Samsung and LG dishwashers. We particularly like the ability to place the silverware basket in the door.or in the rack.
We were looking for a unit that was 50 db or less that was well reviewed.
Minor nitpicks :
The latch on the basket could be "smoother" and can be slightly difficult to open for my wife.
It takes a while to wash the dishes. This is a complaint that I noticed for many of the newer dishwashers, so I do not think that this is particularly specific to this model or brand.
Overall, we are very satisfied with our purchase. We had a (non-Gold) Whirlpool that I bought 3 years ago for our old house. While the cycles took less time than this one, it was much louder than this unit. We bought a new (to us) house that had an older Kenmore brand dishwasher that still worked but was incredibly loud and dishes did not fit well in it. It also used quite a bit of water. We can barely hear this unit when in the kitchen and can't hear it at all outside the kitchen. It uses less water and gets the dishes clean without having to pre-rinse them (see tip below). Since we have a well and septic in our new house, this is a nice bonus.
Tip:
If the pans and dishes aren't extremely dirty, we have found that ECO wash and ECO dry is fastest setting. Using the sensor setting will get the dirtiest dishes spotless but can take a long time (3 or more hours).

This is a solid, well designed dishwasher that cleans dishes very well and runs quietly. Its top shelf stores a lot more glasses and saucers than my prior dishwasher. While its lower shelf storage capacity is good, it is limited by lack of more separators or tines, thus limiting the actual amount of larger dishes and plates that can be put in it.

My new Whirlpool dishwasher is very quiet. We had to put our ears next to it to be sure it was running. I like it very much but a feature I had on my old dishwasher was a rinse/hold cycle. I could put the dishes in dirty and run the rinse/hold cycle and wait for a while until it was full to run a wash cycle. In my new dishwasher that is not an option and that disappoints me. I have tried putting the dishes in dirty and waiting until it was full to run it. They did come clean but an odor developed so I have to rinse each of them before putting them in. That is the only negative thing I can say though.

This was a replacement for our old Whirlpool dishwasher. It was a simple installation. I really like the stainless interior and the configuration of the racks, it can hold much more than our old one. The only thing that this doesn't have that I miss is the time remaining on the cycle. Also the lights are one color so you have to go and look closely to see if it is done. Overall very satisfied.
