I was very impressed with the installation from Best Buy and the performance of the refrigerator. We have not had it that long but the noise level is the same as our older refrigerator.

Went to BEST BUY to buy a FRIDGE and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and knowledgeable staff.

I just purchased this 3 days ago and so far, so good! I love the lighting and this refrigerator is far more spacious than the Samsung French Door w/extra cold drawer. So happy I exchanged that one (horrible) for the Whirlpool! I love that you can place a water bottle/measuring cup under the water dispenser and walk away. Great little perk!! Yes, the ice is noisy but it just started to make it so if you're standing in the same room and the ice falls, of course it's kind of loud. If you're sleeping 2 inches from the frig, it's going to be loud. Most people sleep in another room though...So, I don't understand why people would rate it loud... It's tolerable as ice falling makes some sort of noise. I am very happy with this purchase. Again, it's only been 3 days but so far, so good! I only gave 4 stars for features because like other reviews I read, there isn't an actual spot for eggs. I found room but it's weird that there isn't one built in.

I researched the heck out of refrigerators and thought I had chosen the perfect model. The size is ideal, the features are great, it looks good, I love the French-doors, and the price was right. I also thought I was doing good by selecting Whirlpool, based on their reputation/repair frequency, versus a brand such as LG or Samsung. Immediately after delivery and once the temperature stabilized, I noticed the noise. The fans/compressors/whatever run almost constantly. I am coming from a GE Profile that was nothing but trouble, but it was at least quiet. This Whirlpool is so loud we have to purposely turn the TV up at night to drown it out. When I get home after work, the buzzing/whirring from the fridge is the first sound I hear when I open the door. Occasionally, the fans will stop and the fridge is quiet ... but it is so seldom that I can't determine the pattern. Bottom line....if you are hard of hearing, this is an excellent fridge. I love all the features and interior design. But if you are like me and have normal hearing, run away...you will be dissatisfied. I have not tried to report this problem to Whirlpool yet. That is my next step. But based on other's comments, I expect to be told that "this is normal".

I have read many reviews about this unit being noisy. Frankly, the first thing I wanted to do was fire it up and see how noisy it is. First off, it's a refirgerator, it has to run, so the fan is going to make some noise but in reality it was hardly noticeable. I love the size of the unit and the french doors. I bought it during memorial day and saved big time, so guess that helps. I came from a large side-by-side Whirlpool fridge and love the freezer on the bottom and the double doors on top. The all LED lighting inside is nice and the measured fill is also a handy feature. All in all I would recommend this to anyone!

Overall great frige for the price. Tons of space with the french door design. Lower drawer freezer makes access much easier, and also has plenty of room. This frige makes it really easy to see and access anything in it. Doors have plenty of storage space. Only disappointment is the in door ice maker. Ice melts and clumps, and it doesn't make ice quickly, even with quick ice function. Wouldn't stop me from buying this frige again, though.

This "Top Of The Line" Refrigerator has been a nightmare since day one. We are on the second refrigerator first one was replaced due to it's failure and not being reparable. Now the second one has failed after several service calls. Fan in Freezer Ices over and makes a terrible banging noise loud enough to wake us up in the back of the house. Have to open freezer to let it thaw out then restart freezer. Service man told us to make sure to open freezer all the way before closing......it doesn't work still ices up. Now today the cooling in refrigerator portion will only reach 55 degrees. Everything is spoiling repairman due out in 3 days. Whirpool is clearly making horrible products will never purchase Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid or any other brand made by Whirlpool again. Purchased 8/3/13. I am a longtime Best Buy Customer have spent thousands of dollars there but WILL NOT BE SHOPPING AT BEST BUY IF THEY ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO SELL WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS.

I purchased one of these in January and had to have it replaced within 2 weeks because the water dispenser kept running, the second unit froze the freezer door closed, the third unit has had the ice maker replaced and then a month later the compressor stopped working. The service guys have been excellent and very helpful. It's only been 3 days since compressor was changed out, so wee will see.

We purchased this refrigerator about 18 mouths ago and enjoyed it for about the first 16 months but started having soft ice cream in freezer. We did not purchase the Service and Protection Plan because of the great service we had from all the Whirlpool appliances we owned in the past. We called for repair person and after a few hours, informed us he could not repair the unit and refunded our service call fee. So we called another service company and he determined it is the compressor and the estimated cost to repair is $800 to $1200. At the time we purchased the refrigerator we did not check the time period of the warranty and was very disappointed to find it's only one year for everything. We are in the process of buying a new refrigerator and are very concerned about warranties and protection plans. Also we will never purchase another Whirlpool product. Do not buy this refrigerator.

Bought this model because I have had good experience with Whirlpool Gold products in the past, the price was less than LG and Samsung models and the design included the measured fill option. Upon delivery I was very pleased. However, I immediately noticed that the "compressor" was fairly loud compared to my previous refrigerator. After 48 hours the "compressor" never shut off. I called Whirlpool and was told that due to the energy efficient design of this model the compressor never turns off. I do not recommend this model unless you are willing to put up with a constant compressor noise 24/7.

The refrigerator is nice looking and bright inside. The stainless steel surface will allow magnets to stick to it. Had to have warranty service within a week due to a leaking water dispenser. The worst thing about this refrigerator is it seems to run all the time. It makes various noises and is loud.

DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE. I bought this from Best Buy. Got a heck of a deal because Best Buy screwed up and didn't have the one I had ordered the day before I was to get it delivered. Long story short: Whirlpool sent repair technicians to my house 8 times before giving up and stating it cannot be fixed. 8 TIMES IN 8 MONTHS! First it made a loud ticking noise. Then the freezer temp went up to 50+. Then it started ticking again (and they refused to fix this because "Just because it is loud doesn't mean it is broken". 4 days later, freezer went out again. I filed a lawsuit in small claims against Whirlpool to get back my money and compensation for 32 hours of my time for these repairs. They still haven't given me a new fridge.

I bought this refrigerator 1 year and 2 months ago when suddenly the freezer stopped to work … called the official service, they came home,… spent less than one (1) minute looking into it (just opened the freezer drawer to see it was warm),… went out of my house to make a phone call and returned saying: “you have a leak, it is irreparable!!.” I am sure Whirpool knows pretty well about this problem. They spent less than a minute looking into it, but they were clear on the diagnostic: Irreparable leak!!!... and by the way, your warranty expired one month and 20 days ago, so through it and buy a new one. Goodbye!. If you are on time to make a buying decision, my advice will be, think twice before deciding for Whirpool!!.
