installed Win 7 (32 bit) oem O/S on old computer originally with Vista, except removed old hard drive and did a clean install on new hard drive. It was very easy and fast. But, all the Updates (96 of them) took a couple hours to download. Win 7 took care of formatting the new HDD and all the drivers I needed too. Used Windows Easy Transfer to save old settings, documents, photos, etc., and everything transferred over very fast. Only complaint is the license product key number is extremely small to read without a magnifier, and even still had problems distinguishing letter "B" and number "8".

It's easy to install, unfortunately the sale rep. at best buy didn't know which version to recommend me, even though I took all my PC specs and I ended up buying a 32-Bit instead of a 64 Bit. They need more training in IT.

The instructions were not very clear; it required an installation program be downloaded from Microsoft, but when tried to get it from the website given received an error that website did not exist. So I had to pay to have the upgrade installed, something that should have been a DIY project for anyone with a little computer savy.

This may actually be a function—or dysfunction—of HP and not Microsoft, but they didn't include drivers to the HP LaserJer 1012 printer. Planned obsolescence if you ask me. But windows 7 is a good product, with good versatility.

I bought this program to replace the vista program i had when I purchased the computer. Windows 7 is much more compatible with other programs versus vista.

Price could have been a little cheaper since Windows 8 is already out-- didn't want to commit to Windows 8 yet. Was unable to download the program online, had to request CD for installation. Once received, installation was a breeze, and it works perfect!

I really like windows 7. I had XP, I loved it. I am not that good in computers, I did not want windows 8, because I kept hearing how alot of people had a hard time adjustng to it. Then I kept asking about windows 7. They were telling me how much easier windows 7 is.It took me a long time to decide. Because I really liked XP. So I went on line and ordered windows 7. The very nice Coustomer service Lady, has windows7 herself, how she likes it herself.I love windows 7.
Thank You, Rhonda
p.s. windows 7, is wonderful.

Not much to say about the product as it is what one would expect, a PC operating system. While you can upgrade (depending on prev. system) or do a custom install, some advanced skillset is helpful. As with any new PC or operating system additional work will be required to ensure all drivers are located and installed as well as restoring any previous backed up files.

It works well, and not too cumbersome to install. I needed it for a special Windows based program, and it makes everything much easier now.

Long time XP user forced to upgrade because Microsoft will end all support for XP on April 8, 2014. I am very satisfied with Windows 7 and its features...and knowing Microsoft will provide support until 2020.

In order to keep up with the latest software and firmware for the Gammill Statler Stitcher longarm business, I needed to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.
The process for going from Vista to Windows 7 was a little complicated for some of the graphic software I already use.
It took about 3 days to go through all the changes.

Upgrade from XP to 7 not for the novice

Fortunately I have done the upgrade on several other computers. The upgrade from XP to 7 cannot be done without uninstalling Power Shell. Unfortunately MS will not let Power Shell be uninstalled from the Control Panel. If you don't know to google the process, you woulnd never be able to do the several steps necessary to complete the uninstalling; simply deleting the files will not work.
Also, MS printed the product key in at most a 4 pt font on top of a multi-color, camouflage background, making it almost impossible to distinguish the characters accurately enough to read it. BUT THERE'S NO CHOICE OTHER THAN STAY WITH XP.

We had Windows 7, but had to replace a corrupted hard drive, etc. We didn't want the new program we had heard about, thank you. Windows 7 is even better than our ancient Windows 98!
