This movie has never looked better. They did a outstanding job on this. The details and colors pop off the screen, making this the best way to watch this all time classic.

Was hard to find the 75th anniversary edition on bluray of The Wizard of Oz. Fortunately, one of my Best Buy's near me had it. I hate ordering. I'd rather drive across town to pick it up immediately. Thanks for having it in stock!

I love the Wizard of Oz. I ordered this because it was a great deal with the digital copy. Unfortunately, the TWO times this movie was sent to me, it was not as shown in the image (not the 75th anniversary edition and no digital copy). I hope that Best Buy changes the description and pictureof this product to be accurate.

This classic movie is so iconic and so ingrained into the societal consciousness here in America and probably the entire world that from start to finish it's like watching an old friend. You become a child again, tap your toes to the famous tunes, and basically grin ear to ear for its entire running time. It's multi-generational entertainment that can be handed down to children and grandchildren. Those of us of a certain age remember watching every year on TV. Be it black and white or early color sets. It's a joyous celebration of home, hearth, family and friends. But it also has important life themes with some darkness and drama thrown in. It has not only great music and dance but tremendous set design, costuming and special effects for its day that still holds up quite well. When Dorthy opens the door of her tornado tossed home to glimpse her first sight of OZ in stunning Technicolor our eyes pop and we let out a long "wow"! This is made an even more stunning moment watching the insanely good 4K Dolby Vision transfer. You think you know ruby slippers? The glinting specular highlights from the HDR dazzle us. Dorthy's rosy cheeks, dark red hair and freckles are plain to see. Makeup and costuming details of the entire cast are a wealth of visual goodies. The hand painted backdrops of the sets are rich and colorful. The 5.1 surround track presents music, dialog and sound effects so well that you are just immersed in the experience. Really, this is the best this classic has looked and sounded. Run, don't walk to add this disc to your collection!

This review is strictly on the disc as you know what the movie is about. The 4K image quality of the disc is amazing. Clearer definition, better lighting, and while 4K HDR promises brighter brights and darker blacks, don't think this image is going to blind you with brightness. Overall, the print is not that much brighter, but there is a much better overall tone, color quality, and detail. The HDR really brings out the colors of Oz, the witches skin and fingernails, and you can see details in the witches costume that I have not seen before. I redeemed the 4K Digital HD Code on VUDU. The VUDU 4K version specs are: 4K, Dolby Vision, HDR10, Dolby Digital Plus 5.1. Roku doesn't support Dolby Vision so you'll get it in HDR10. The disc is Dolby Vision. The disc is definitely the best way to watch as I found the 4K HDR10 print to be a little grainer/fuzzier, but if you're in a room with no 4K UHD player, then streaming is your preferred option. Should you upgrade from the 75th edition BluRay? YES!

This is the best that this movie has ever looked. It's stunning when you consider how old the movie is. It's like being on set while they were filming, which is both good and potentially bad: you see colors and details that you will not see on any other format, but for the first time I was really able to see the material of the sets (wood and plastic bushes, trees, etc.) as well as things like the seems on costumes, the white T-shirt that the tin mans wears under his costume, the Munchkins' bald-caps, etc. As an adult who has seen this movie so many times, I really didn't mind and I appreciated seeing the details that have been somewhat obscured by the previous and lesser formats. And I don't think kids will mind because they won't notice such things... at least mine didn't.

The new 4K UHD bluray of The Wizard of Oz looks spectacular! The vibrancy of the colors and the improved detail are amazing to see. This is the oldest film to yet be given the full 4K treatment and it proves just what a phenomenal difference 4K can make, even with a title from so long ago. With films from this period of time, film grain must of course be contended with. The grain varies, becoming more or less prevalent from scene to scene, but the overall image upgrade more than makes up for it in every way. They have really pulled out all the stops for the edition, including an upgraded soundtrack and even the inclusion of Dolby Vision HDR encoding! If you love this film, like so many millions over the years have, this is without question the finest this film has ever looked. If you have a 4K TV with HDR at home (and a 4K bluray player), it would be criminal to purchase any other edition of this beloved classic.

The original Black & White The Wizard of OZ movie was a silent movie made in 1925 with Oliver Hardy (of Laurel & Hardy Films) playing the Tin Woodsman. The 4K Ultra HD movie was make in 2023. That's a 98 year difference in the same story from a B&W silent movie to a superb brilliant sharp color and Dolby Digital Surround Sound Audio to hear and watch in the comfort of your own living room on a 70", 75", or 86" 4K television bought from Best Buy. The 4K The Wizard of OZ is simply outstanding in sound and picture quality. Sit back and enjoy the movie as it was first meant to be seen on large screens in movie theaters.

Because I have well over a thousand titles from the 1930s on to the present in a variety of formats from Laser Disc to VHS to S-VHS to DVD, Blu Ray and now UHD Blu Ray. I have the 50th Anniversary Edition of this same film (from the universally regard year as the BEST for movies, 1939) on Laser Disc and this version is even better! It used to be that the Wizard of Oz came on TV once a year and that night was so special that no matter where we were or what we were doing, our family would stop to watch this gorgeous classic. From the sepia toned opening to the gorgeous color appear when the door to her home opens onto Munchkin Land, this film does not nothing short of warm the heart and soul. Buy it. Trust me. I know what I'm dong' when I'm reviewin'.

The Wizard of Oz transfer to 4k is awesome, one of the better transfers of older movies. WB clearly put the effort into it rather than churning out quick release garbage to grab a buck. I knew beforehand that WB had used a newer 8k master of the original camera negative and so there was a good chance the film would look great in 4K, and it did. For this reason, I'm very glad I went with the SteelBook vs. the regular version.

Presented in both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, The Wizard of Oz has never looked better. My display is able to view Dolby Vision HDR, so that is what my review involves. Gone is the oversaturated look of the 2012 Blu-Ray. This new remaster involves a much more natural look to the film. Some viewers, myself included, used to the oversaturated 2012 Blu-Ray, may find this new 2019 remaster to look a little bland and not as colorful, so keep that in mind when watching. Just know that this is what the filmmakers intended when creating this masterpiece. Steelbook design is gorgeous.

If you are set up with a 4K/UHD player and panel, then you are ready for this edition of "The Wizard of Oz". Don't look for a picture and sound quality that matches today's modern films like Batman and The Dark Knight trilogy, as Oz is now an 80-year old film that was made in an era of different technology. Still, with that said, I did not think it was possible to improve on the older BLU-RAY which already looked great. But this newer edition in 4K/UHD still brings out additional clarity, colors and details that made this extra increase well worth the purchase.

This a great buy. $9.99. How can you beat that for a 4k UHD version of one of the greatest movies this country have ever made. The film looks incredible. I recommend this to any film collector, Judy Garland fan, parents who want to show their children a wonderful film the entire family can love, or just 4k afficiandos. I hope Best Buy does this sale again for ALL their Dvd 4k library they stock.

I'm a sucker for a nice steelbook packaging, so I had to jump at the chance to get this limited edition Wizard of Oz steelbook. I was pleasantly surprised even though I thought it was a bit pricey. The movie looks great in the 4K transfer and there's some special features that I haven't even seen yet. There's a wonderful making of almost feature-length special feature that was very interesting. I thought I knew a lot about the movie already but there was some facts that I had never seen before. A great guy and I'm glad I got it before it sold out!

There are really no words to express how amazing this movie is in 4K HDR. It truly is the movie that will be your showcase to show off your home theater setup. Do I need to talk about the movie? A classic in the true sense of the word, and beautifully shot and performed. Songs are incredible and catchy. The print is beyond anything you could have imagined. You will see colors you didn’t even know the movie had in it. Don’t wait to own this masterpiece, and if you have not yet graduated to a 4K HDR TV this is a huge reason to do it.

If you're like me you just didn't trust all those low price upgrades of one of the all time classics. I just couldn't pull the trigger. Well patience is a virtue because this 4k transfer is nearly flawless. The B&W to Color effect is intact and you can even feel a little bit of that magic audiences must have been blown away with back in the day. The scenes centering around the Tin Man in the woods, really look gorgeous and surreal. Just a lot of fun seeing Oz look this good.
