    The Mutants Reboot!!!

The Apocalypse is upon us for the upcoming X-Men entry, arriving in theatres this May. In need to catch up or collect along with Days of Future Past, then don't hesitate, X-Men First Class is definitely worthy for purchase. The origin of the main mutant heroes and villains is presented in "Black Bar" Widescreen ratio, in near-perfect quality though makes some of the technical elements apparent and distracting. The soundtrack mix is excellent to behold from captivating banter between Xavier and Magneto to Henry Jackman's amazing score sounding off along with impactful action climax. The combo pack contains plenty of behind-the-scenes extras, a DVD copy and a digital copy of the film to your heart's content.

    Steelbook!

Since The Flash began one full week ahead of Arrow and Supergirl, the already-complicated sharing of one timeline and universe had an extra snag. Fortunately, taking the week off now means that The Flash will air an episode on both Tuesday, December 4th, and then another to lead off the three-night "Elseworlds" crossover on December 9th. As a result, this year's crossover will be played out across the ninth episodes of all three shows. Or, to look at it another way, fans are getting to enjoy TWO episodes of The Flash in one week come December, instead of going a week without, just so Arrow and Supergirl could catch up.

    The Best X-Men Film

X-Men First Class is by far the best film of the franchise. This was actually the second time I purchased the film because I wanted to get the Steelbook cover. The casting of James McAvoy and Michael Fastbender was perfect. I believe these are the only 2 individuals who could capture the essence of the characters that Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen had so perfectly portrayed. Apart from the casting, the film being set in the 60's really helped give the movie a new twist that was exciting. And after years of black leather costumes, it was so cool to finally get a hint of the original X-Men costumes with the very cool looking blue and yellow costumes.

This movie has everything, action, romance, action... Kevin bacon! This was one heck of an entry to the new (prequel) trilogy of X-men. People have missed this gem over the years and us reviewers here are here to tell you that this is how X-men should’ve been in the begging, or actually how they shoulda started the franchise. Shows you the origins of our fellow mutants, they don’t dig back much into the story but it’s a great start for them and how they became to be in the other films. Really you should pick this up and watch with the family.

Just get it! It hits all the marks for this franchise and the movie seems too short because of it. Like its follow up, this one could have used a little more development from the writers, who seem to have taken a nap towards the 3/4 mark of the movie. More could have been done but none the less Kevin Bacon shines and really brings his character to life! More should have been done with him. This is a great home theater movie with all the grandeur movie makers like to throw in to show off today's latest surround sound processing features.

    Best X-Men movie so far

There came a point, about half way through this film, when I emerged from the world of wonder on screen, took stock of my emotions in that instant, and realized that yes, by God, I am LOVING this movie. I didn't really expect to, of course -- although certainly, I hoped for it. With such an incredible cast, an able director at the helm, a story of Bryan Singer provenance and the inclusion of some of my favorite, if lesser known, X-types (Darwin! Tempest! Havok!), I was eager to see this beloved band of merry Marvel mutants redeem themselves after the massive failures of X3 and X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE.

I think that "X-Men: First Class" was once again one of the greatest X-Men films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite X-Men films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed this film several times and I really enjoyed all the films of the second X-Men trilogy that included "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and "X-Men: Apocalypse". I also think that "X-Men: First Class" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, mystery and suspense and amazing and original personal storylines as well.

I admit I'm late coming to the club. I just started catching up with the X-men movies. So I have basically binge watched them over the last couple of weekends. I love this installment. Certainly a departure from the first three movies. I never read the comic books so I can't say as to whether the story line is the same, but I enjoyed it. Certainly a good story explaining the foundation of the series. Pretty sure it would stand on its own, so no pre-req to watch the previous films. Overall I think it is great.

X-Men: First Class is a great movie that you will find yourself watching over and over again. This movie was directed Matthew Vaughn who directed Layer Cake (good movie you should also check out). This movie features James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, and Jennifer Lawrence. The movie is set in the 1970's and shows the start of the Professor X's X-Men. The movie has heart and is has a great cast that showcase some great acting chops. The bad boys are tough and menacing unlike some weaker superhero movies.

Generally speaking, I'm much more of a DC franchise person than a Marvel franchise person; the DC movies are darker and have a moodier feel than their often slapstick counterparts. X-Men is an exception to that rule. Living in a world torn apart by social issues and forced to choose between existing with or fighting the non-evolved humans on the planet, the director does a good job of balancing the options of the plot and making sure nothing seems out of place.

After Singer slaughtered the original series of X-men movies. It was refreshing to see an Xmen movie that wasn't centered around Wolverine. He's an awesome character but he's not the what X-men is about, not to mention they completely messed up the story line in the first 3. In first class they toned down the leather clad costumes quite a bit and got back to the basics of the characters. The director Matthew Vaughn was far better than Singer in bringing a great story to the screen.

This movie was awesome when I saw it in the theater over 2 years ago, but for some reason I never bought it when it came to Blu-Ray. Good thing I didn't because I would've missed out on trading an old DVD, that I probably wouldn't have watched again, for $5 off of this, making it $4.99. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I got a free ticket to see the new Wolverine movie that I would've seen regardless, so it's like I paid for a discounted movie ticket and got a free Blu-Ray with it.

    Magneto Origins / alternate Title

This movie is boost in the life line the xmen series needed. Featuring the "Origin" of the main 2 characters from the original trilogy. Professor X and his life long friend, Magento and their "love triangle" with Mystique. Magneto has definitely been the shining point in most of the Xmen movies, and Fassbender is the perfect choice to play the young Eric. The steelbook is good for any collector who likes to have a "set" of the same style. Magneto is on the cover of this grunge paint style, with the single bluray disc inside.

Smart prequel to the X Men saga. The packaging is very pleasing and I wish I had waited longer to get other movies like this. I like the concept of tying in the mutants with the Cuban nuclear crisis of the sixties. The background on Magneto and Xavier is really useful to give you a better understanding of the reasons why they choose to take their respective sides in the mutant world. They should do the same with Mystique.

    Great Prequel / Series Reboot

Given the complicated history of the X-Men film franchise, it's easy to get lost in the various alternate timelines that have taken place since the initial movie debuted in 2000. The first outing in the "young X-Men" series is worth watching, as the setting has a certain '60s nostalgia juxtaposed with strong performances from the 3 leads. This effectively rebooted the franchise and represents the first successful X-Men outing from a director not named Bryan Singer, and it's worth a look in the 4k format.

This movie lays some groundwork for the next couple of films (days of future past, age of apocalypse). In that role this film did well. The love triangle between magneto, Xavier and raven ( mystique) was the main story and a the rest seemed to be secondary. Kevin bacon was not a good villain but Michael fassbender was. There were obscure characters that I didn't recognize. They killed a character that (in the comics) cannot die. I would watch any comic movie, especially xmen so I am biased. That being said, I would recommend this.

X-Men First Class was a pleasant surprise when it came out. I was a fan of the original X-Men, but my enthusiasm for the films decrease with each successive film, with X3 being very disappointing. The Wolverine films were good on action, but not so much on story. Not so with First Class - the story is set in a very interesting time both historically and in the lives of some of the main characters. You are likely to find yourself invested in the characters by the end of the film and entertained by the spectacle of many of its action sequences.

At first I was very skeptical of this movie because I was originally a big fan of the first three X-Men films. But once I gave it a chance, I fell in love with it and it came to the point where I had to own it and here I am owning it and loving it and I will never be sick of it. Two thumbs up and again a must see for all X-Men fans including those that love comic books and superheroes as well as super villains.

Far superior to the previous three X-Men titles in terms of a cohesive and sensible plot, adequate to awesome character development, and the action(whether it be mutant v mutant or mutant v normie). The ending was a great way to build up to the next film coming out this summer. I highly recommend picking this movie up before the release of Days of Future Past so you can relive the action of First Class before you are jumping through time in May.
