I've played all the console xcom games but this is the hardest by far. Even in the easiest difficulty its still very challenging and i consider myself a vetted gamer. There are also many stages that only have a certain number of turns before you fail the mission. Those seem to be the most difficult since you have to complete the objective and have to reach the extraction point within that time. Overall i still like the xcom universe but this installment is the most difficult so far

XCOM2 is true to the original storyline. It was great fun to play and certainly met my expectations. The XCOM series are my favorite turn-based games. A couple of things that diminished gameplay: 1) There were some stutters and technical glitches with cut scenes and actual gameplay. Mostly annoying, but it was noticeable and occasionally halted play. I suspect they'll patch and update soon. 2) Multiplayer for XB1 doesn't exist. No matter how I tried, I could not enter, join, or host an online match in any way, shape, or form. I love multiplayer, and was really disappointed. Again, an upcoming update will probably include a fix. 3) Actions/reactions and their results during actual mission play were mostly random and unpredictable. This is as it should be. But when looking at the Bridge screens and participating in that part of the game, the progress was TOO predictable. I had no trouble telling when an emergency mission would pop up and require my attention. I finally got annoyed and sometimes just skipped over an "urgent mission" because it always got in the way of my soldiers' healing, research, construction, etc. Likewise, the timing of the game's progress on it's final countdown to disaster was also easily predicted. I still really loved this game, and am going through a second run-through at a more difficult level. While this game (like most) has a linear story, the best part is the missions which have much more random play. This gives me a number of "what if" actions and reactions to try out from saved game files. If you're a fan of XCOM, you'll overlook the glitches and hiccups. It's a great game, with hours of fun play.

Xcom 2 offers more customization than its predecessor. It's also a lot harder. From the first few missions aliens already have mind control abilities so be ready to deal with that. The new time limitations on rounds amp up the difficult as well. For example, you may have to beat a round in 10 turns. If there were not aliens around no problem, unfortunately there are. Expect to lose some guys as you push to reach objectives that force you to play fast and loose with movement.

As a casual gamer the plot felt like it didn't quite fit in with the endings of Xcom: enemy unknown and Enemy Within (also played Bureau but that's in the past ~ all joking aside) but I was willing to suspend my disbelief and just assume the things I didn't understand were part of a narrative element needed to set the stage for sloppy seconds. But all and all, X com 2 was enough the game I remembered to keep me playing and having a grand ol' time.

Having played all the Xcom games and even the predecessor Laser Squad, this game stays true to the genre. The combat system is challenging and losing a favorite soldier is motivation to try harder. The game makes you care about your cast of soldiers. Plenty of save slots make "re do's" a viable option. If you're a turn based strategy fan, you owe it to yourself to try!

The original XCOM (PC back in the 90s) was one of my favorite games. It was freaking brilliant and I played through it several times. These new updates don't quite match that original one (though I suspect nostalgia plays a roll there) but they are darn good. Seriously enjoyable strategy game, with excellent graphics.

This sequel is more difficult and challenging than the originals. Even though the story is much different, it still has the same feel as the originals on the console. This version seems more personal than the others too and can be brutal when one of your favorite soldiers dies. I still miss the old 90's PC version; the newer releases just don't have the same feel.

I play Xcom 2 for the Single Player Content. I am really impressed with how long this game can be played and all the things you can do in this game. The game developers done a really good job putting this game together. The AI is really good in this game and the story is just great. I highly recommend this game to buy.

A great continuation of the first game; if you liked the first Xcom, then you'll definitely like part 2. More levels, more characters, weapons. If you never played the first one, but you like strategy games, this is definitely one game you should try out. A bit difficult in some areas, but I highly recommend it!

I've run into a few glitches and bugs in the XBox One version of this game, but nothing game breaking. It's still the same, great XCom 2 that was on PC about a year ago. If you never got a chance to play that version or just don't play PC games much, this version is absolutely worth the price of admission.

After loving the original -- well, technically the 'reboot' I guess -- I picked this up and found it just as engaging as the first, with a lot of enhancements that make the game even more fun to play. There's also a host of quality of life improvements, so if you liked the first game, you won't be dissatisfied with this one, either!

I'm a fan of the series since it started with microprose. Sid Meier's reboot is amazing and with this sequel it is the best turn-based strategy game ever made. My first successful playthrough on commander was challenging especially for someone who beat the last game on legendary. A must have title
