Customers are enthusiastic about Xenoblade Chronicles X's stunning graphics, fantastic gameplay, and expansive open world. Many also praised the compelling story and deep combat system, along with the extensive customization options. However, some players found the soundtrack unappealing and the text size too small. A few also mentioned challenges with the controls and the amount of time needed to level up.

Fun for the WiiU

Being one of the few non Mario exclusives on the WiiU this game really shines. The world is huge and filled with all kinds of exotic creatures great and small. The different environments are a joy to explore and the areas are packed with things to do. The combat is fast paced and the are a variety of classes and skills to master.
However the one big downside is the music. It's terrible, seriously horrible bad. I thought other reviews blew it out of proportion, I was wrong, it is so very truly awful. It's fine when you are running around the open field, but go into the city or get into the fight and your ears will be punished. I find myself finishing fights as fast as possible so the music will end.
Bad music aside the game is really fun and I do recommend it, just be ready for that music!

XCX compared to its competitors in 2015 manages to hold its own. It's a solid outing from Monolith that manages to include beauty, substance and hours of playability. Not without its flaws but a solid must have title for RPG lovers on the Wii U that is showing it's a console worth owning.

Xenoblade Chronicles is truly an epic experience in terms of scope and world building. This game definitely pushes the Wii U to it's limits. While I'm not a huge fan of hand holding in a videogame it would be nice to get more of a tutorial. Also I think the story suffers to some extent in exchange for the huge world you are given to explore.

This new game from Nintendo is a vibrant new world that keeps the spirit of Japanese style RPG elements. There is so much to do and find as well as fight. There is easily over 80 hours of content alone. It pulls from so many games that there us sinthing for everyone.

A continuation of the Xeno Series (Xenoblade, Xenogears, Xenosaga), the latest game blends elements of a great MMO with a nice RPG framework to move things along. Highly recommended for RPG fans that like a lot of customization options in their party and their gear.

This is by far my favorite game from 2015. I'm astonished at the size of the open world. It's not 'this is amazing...for wii u.' No, it's an impressive feat as an open world game plain and simple. Hundreds of hours in content make it well worth the full price.

Must-buy JRPG for WiiU

If you're looking for a JRPG for WiiU, this would be it. This game is the spiritual successor to Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii (or to the port on Nintendo 3DS). Your character explores an open world in a large humanoid robot, and you use the WiiU gamepad as a sort of information terminal when fighting/exploring.

It doesn't compare to the original, but it's surprisingly good as something else entirely. The story and characters aren't particularly strong, but the setting pops. I was initially disappointed by the story structure, but they absolutely nailed the free-roaming open world, and it's worth playing just for that.

Hours of fun, its a little disappointing you played 10+ hours of the story before you get to pilot your first skell, but there are SO MANY SKELLS. not too mention the vast landscapes as well as a very long story. Major disappoint how the online is kind of like the arena in Monster Hunter

I love the genre so this may be a bit biased but this has been a great game and I do love the open world aspect of it. I do think the camera controls and snapping could be a bit better which is why I didn't give it 5 stars but would recommend if you're fan of this type of game.

This is not in any way connected to the first Xenoblade Chronicles game it has the same style fighting, however once you get over that it is a sequel and just enjoy it for the game it is, then you will be golden.

Massive open world with tons to too, with robust battle and customization options. My major takeaway from this game is that the random difficulty spikes while completing lower level missions could become annoying after about the 100th time.

It has a hard time living up to its namesake, which ranks among my favorite games of all time, but they did a great job nonetheless.
As is repeated everywhere else on the internet, the strong story and likable characters from the first game aren't matched by this one; the characters are a lot more flat and underdeveloped. It suffers from way too many homogenized characters, and the plot is short and doesn't have a lot going for it.
That's not the main attraction, however. The setting is absolutely fantastic; I don't think it's matched by any other open-world game on the market. There's tons to explore, and it's consistently fun just to run around
Mechanically, I think the battles are a bit worse than the original, since the uniqueness of the cast's movesets was abandoned for a much more generic class system, and in the end it didn't really seem to matter much which I chose, or who I took with me. The original made the contribution of you and your two party members important, and it really felt like a proper team. Here, the actions of your party is pretty inconsequential, especially later on.
Sidequests were greatly improved, however. I always thought they were the weakest point of the original, and X gave them a lot of polish. That being said, compared to other games I would still call them bland and middling. It's a step in the right direction, but they still have a game or two to go before they get it right.
Overall, it's not as beloved game to me as the original, but it's still a great game. I'd recommend it, especially for people who like exploration in game.s
