I recently purchased this lens, and it has completely exceeded my expectations. The image quality is sharp from edge to edge, with beautiful color rendering and fantastic contrast. Whether I’m shooting portraits, landscapes, or low-light scenes, the performance is always top-notch. The autofocus is quick and silent, making it perfect for capturing those candid moments. It’s also incredibly well-built—solid and sturdy without being too heavy, which makes it great for long shooting sessions. This lens has truly elevated my photography game, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional-grade lens that delivers stunning results every time!

    A great 35mm equivalent lens

This lens is light and compact, which suits the X-T3 perfectly. It’s also a good focal length for general, everyday photography. The 35mm equivalent focal length wasn’t something I was very familiar with or comfortable prior to purchasing this lens; I am usually more comfortable with a 50mm lens (35mm on Fuji). However, I’m trying to improve as a photographer and get out of my comfort zone, so I decided to try this lens. The weather resistance is another selling point for me, since I live in a cold, snowy climate for half the year. I took this lens with me to a baseball game yesterday and had a lot of fun capturing candid shots of the fans around me. It’s very inconspicuous compared to whipping out a full frame DSLR, so I think this lens would be awesome for street photography as well.

I have only been shooting with this lens for a few weeks, but it has practically lived on my X-T4 the whole time. Quick focus, nice clarity, lightweight, and is a fantastic walk around lens. It's my favorite everyday carry lens.

I saw several reviews on this lens as the preferred everyday lens for Fuji X-mount cameras. I have to say that yes, I agree with having this lens added to anyone's inventory or at least part of your current go-to lens for everyday use.

It's so wide that I can't go back to normal 35mm. I love it! Not the best for portraits though

The Fujifilm XF 23mm F2 R WR is an excellent lens and a perfect match for the new X-E5. It keeps the whole setup compact and lightweight, which makes it super easy to carry around every day. Autofocus is fast and reliable, and the image quality is outstanding with sharp details and beautiful Fuji colors. The weather resistance is also a big plus for outdoor shooting. If you own the X-E5, this lens feels like it was made for it — highly recommended!

This lens is honestly more than you think you will get. I came from the kit lens 18-55 F2.8-4, and this was so much sharper and crisper the moment I looked through the view finder. When I looked at my pictures after the fact I was more than pleased with them by comparison. It’s also very lite, and super tank like. It fits and looks really nicely on my x-t3. The Wheather sealing has worked well so far and i can’t say enough how reassuring that feels when your out shooting. Took a couple close ish photos of my wife as a portrait test. Cropped in and the results were very pleasing. The talk of a soft close focus up close are real, but stop down a bit and that vanishes so I don’t really see what all the fuss is about to be honest. Especially as you can zoom in a tiny bit on a head and shoulders portrait, and loose no crispness or sharpness. Does markedly better inside and in lower light than the kit lens as well. Honestly, I think everyone should own this for their Fuji. Especially at this price, which is very reasonable and doesn’t show in terms of image or build quality. Simply put, it’s a reasonably priced, robust, Wheather sealed, and stylish little lens with great image quality.

If you're coming from the world of DSLRs, then this lens embodies everything positive about the switch to mirrorless. It's tiny. Super tiny. It weighs practically nothing. It's sharp, even wide open. The focus and aperture rings are nicely dampened and smooth. It's nicely sealed and leaves me feeling confident about shooting in inclement weather or poor conditions. More than anything else, this lens with an XT-3 is fun. XT-30 too. Small, light, great IQ, and a high fun-factor. I love this whole range of lenses, and 23mm on an APS-C body is a great focal length for everything from environmental portraits, to photojournalism, to street photography, to landscapes.

Great lens! A perfect focal length for walking around and travel. Wide enough for context but you can get a little compression to bring some details in as well. On a crop sensor you get a 35mm full frame equivalent with this lens which turns out, I love. F2 isn’t the best lens available for low light and portrait bokeh but the size is CONSIDERABLY smaller and makes me throw this in the bag all the time. It takes up about the same amount of space as my air blaster. Even cranking up the ISO to compensate for the smaller aperture produced great results mounted on my X-T5. Build quality is all metal, except the hood. Aperture ring has positive detents and the perfect amount of effort required to turn it. Focus ring is a little too easy for me, it doesn’t give a lot of feedback. My only major con is the odd/small filter size. Too small to use a step up ring without defeating the purpose of the small size. At least small filters are relatively cheap. Overall, an overall great lens that I’ll be using for many years to come.

Bought this lens to use as single lens travel kit with my x-t4. I have 16-55mm f2.8 zoom which is excellent but heavy for travel use. Many times I have to leave the camera because of weight. The 23mm is right focal length to use for general purpose. I tried 35mm f2 before, which is good lens but too tight in many situation to be used as general purpose. 16mm is too wide as general purpose. My expectation from this lens is, whether it will match the image quality at f2.8 at same minimum focus distance of 16-55mm f2.8 at 23mm. Yes, image quality is pretty close in this comparison. At f2.8 and above I could not see any difference. Coming to close focus distance 23mm f2 focus much closer than 16-55mm at 23mm which I take it as bonus feature. When focusing close I have to set it to f3.6 or more to get excellent sharp image with good bokeh. For half portrait at f2 also it is very sharp, for head shots I use f3.6 or more to get sharper image. Overall I am very happy with this light weight, weather sealed and versatile focal length.

I love how small this lens is, and it's relatively fast. It's great for hiking or street photography and it's weather sealed so no problems when I've used it hiking in the rain forests in Washington. Would recommend any Fuji shooter to give it a try.

Probably one of my favorite primes in the Fuji line-up. Great street photography lens. It is a big larger and is made of full metal (so it can be cold when used outdoors in cold temperatures) but very nice bokeh and I like the aperture ring. The included lens hood also helps from accidental bumps and contact with the front lens element and does help give images some nice contrast (which is it's primary purpose). It is a bit pricey and I wish Fuji would make a cheaper plastic version like they did for their 35mm f/2 lens. But if you're into street photography this is a good choice if you want a prime (23mm for Fuji is equivalent to 35mm in full frame terms due to the 1.52x crop factor). Being that you can buy other 35mm 1.8 lenses from other brands for APS-C (like Nikon's 35mm DX lens, for $200) I'd say the value isn't quite there. This is a quality lens, but for $450 (at the time of this writing) is a little high. $350 might be more appropriate.
