Great game with an engaging story. Not your typical Yakuza, as combat is now turn based. Depending upon how you feel about that style of game will effect your overall enjoyment.

Very fun game and your typical Yakuza craziness. I was a little skeptical about the turn based combat but it grew on me. A little grind here and there, but still a great game.

This one is turn based action adventure game. Play style is completely different from other Yakuza games, but it still FEELS like a Yakuza game. Don't miss out on this!

The Yakuza series is now a JRPG with turn-based combat. I do wish that the battles were a bit quicker, but I still think that this is one of the best Yakuza games.

The combat style has changed to turn based, which was great for the series. There is an in-game explanation for this.
The new characters are very memorable.

One of my favorite games in one of my favorite series, an awesome game. I recommend starting with 0 first though. Also, grind to level 50 in chapter 12.

This is one of the best Yakuza games! The change in gameplay is surprising, but still fits the Yakuza universe! The characters are funny, and memorable.

Probably my favorite game this fall and a contender for GOTY. Takes a while to get started but it is amazing and is all over the place. A must buy for RPG fans.

This is definitely a different take on the yakuza series but it's still fun to play. I enjoy the new characters and all the humorous scenes spread throughout :)

First off, I haven't completed the game. Not by a long shot. However, that doesn't mean I haven't played enough to have experienced one glaring flaw. At multiple points throughout the game the cutscenes are SO LONG that my controlled has turned off. That's ridiculous! It's basically like watching a TV show at times. On two occasions I've had to pause the game and step away, only to have to redo a cutscene because I couldn't save it at any point, and my XBox turned off.
Aside from that, the game is gorgeous. I like the level up system so far, but I'm iffy on the combat. I was never REALLY good at the Yakuza game combat, however, this is like an RTS...? On the old Yakuzas I was good enough that I could do most non-boss fights without getting hit, but on this? You're almost guaranteed to get hit once or twice every "random" encounter. (Random is in quotes because the encounters are usually marked on your map.)
Make sure you stock up on healing items!

This Day One Edition of Yakuza LAD is super cool, the steelbook is incredible as well. From what I hear the game is fantastic and I can't wait to dive in.
