I chose this product after trying one of its' competitors and found the competitor to be difficult to use and set up. The Yamaha receiver sounds great, supports the new 4K TV I purchased as well as 3D passthrough and high-def audio. It was very easy to set up and sounds great.

This receiver was exactly what I needed. I've now had it for a bit more than a month, and I've found it to be even more than I expected. I wanted a receiver that would provide exceptionally clean communication between all of my components, and it has not disappointed. The sound is really solid, and the setup was a breeze. Great choice for the money.

I purchased this unit as an upgrade from a 2 year old Yamaha. Have always had great experiences with Yamaha. I especially like the fact that you don't have to have the unit on, to watch TV, or access any other equipment connected to it. If you have this unit connected to some good speakers, you can really crank it up, with no distortion. This unit probably has more settings then the average person would use, but I guarantee you will have fun playing with them. And once you understand each of there functions, you can find that "Sweet Spot", and all is good!

Okay, if you are like me you have been reading reviews for hours now looking for a piece of home theater equipment that will sound amazing, be easy to setup and most importantly be feature packed. Well your search is over! This is a feature rich receiver that comes with everything you need to dial the sound to meet your specific preferences. The best part is you can download the Yamaha App and with the app you can very easily turn on zone 1 or 2 from anywhere with a WFI connection. So when I'm in the backyard and want to listen to my favorite tunes I just turn on zone 2 from my phone and select Pandora and BAM music is on. I really can't say enough about this amp - its a great product at a great price point. Go pick one up for yourself. The only negative is the weak remote. It has no backlight, cannot run other devices (just Yamaha DVD) and just feels cheap but the app works great. It bought a Logictec programmable remote at Best Buy for $60 and I can run all my devices from the one remote.

Sounds great and works well with my samsung smart tv. Set up was easy and using the app on my smart phone is simple to either play music or watch tv.

Very easy setup. Great sound. I have 5 speakers on the same wall. The RX-V679BL makes them sound like surround speakers.

I'd had Yamaha products in the past so I knew what to expect and I was not disappointed. The receiver performs very well, set up was complete and very easy to work through. The features were most notable in watching regular tv programs, I found that a lot of sound was coming through that I had not noticed before.

We bought a new tuner thinking that it was the reason that my 101 CD changer wasn't working right.....the speakers on the left side won't put out. Well, come to find out, it wasn't the tuner, it's the actual changer that's the problem. I am super glad that we did purchase this new tuner as it has made it easier to hook everything together whereas my last tuner (over 10 years old) didn't give us as many options. Love it so far!

Better than my last one great sound easy to setup better overall performance sounds and picture

A must have for anyone upgrading there home theatre system. This receiver has a lot of kick and sound AWESOME. though i am having some issues when turning receiver on its not displaying pictures sometimes on tv. have to remove hdmi cord out of display and put it back and it works. This is my 2nd receiver. First one HDMI display port went bad.

I upgraded from a 8 year old Onkyo to the Yahmaha Receiver. So far this receiver performs perfectly. Air play and Bluetooth work great. Remote app easy to use. Sound amazing. Easy set up. Looking forward to adding music cast speakers to the rest of the house.

I purchased a UHD 3D television and then realized I needed to upgrade my Yamaha receiver for the 4k feature. I had a Yamaha receiver that had given me years of trouble free service so I purchased this one to replace it. Was expecting this one to be as good as the old one but was pleasantly surprised. This receiver is even better than the one I replaced. Fairly easy to learn features and sounds fantastic.

Replaced a very powerful Teac. I was running 8 channels plus a center. This has plenty of power an now I'm only running 4 plus a center. No sub yet but the technology of this reciever paired with my Bose 901s and 701s leaves alot more power to shake the neighbors house. 5 Star period.

I've read many reviews on multiple receivers around this price range to replace my broken Only 7.1 system & boy was I impressed by this one. This Yamaha receiver absolutely blows the doors off my old one. Not only loudness, but also quality. I'm very pleased with this product.

I researched and reviewed receivers online for months before I committed to buying one. Being a broke college student, I found the year prior model on best buys app. Well it turns I couldn't get it shipped. The very helpful staff at the store talked to me for a while about my options and I couldn't be happier with this recommendation.

With all the HDMI ports available and the auto tuner mic that comes with it. Setting up the system in my house was quick and now my system is streamlined. Thanks to the auto tuner mic I am very happy with the sound balance in the room.

Researched dozens of home theater receivers before purchasing this unit. It covers all my home theater needs and is ready for 4K as well. Plenty of HDMI inputs so there is nothing I am missing with this unit. Highly recommend!
