A DVD to show details of set up came with the receiver/amp. However, I had to hook up the receiver/amp to play the DVD.. Setup menu is not completely intuitive. After hacking for a while, finally figured it out. For a complex piece of equipment, I guess that can be expected.

I had existing speakers mounted and needed a reasonably priced receiver. This one does everything I needed and more.

So far it has performed very well. So many options, it is taking me some time to learn how to enhance my set up. You must either use the provided disk, or download the owners guide from the Yamaha app to really see what all this product can offer you.

Drives my 4 large Sansui speakers with great sound. The remote has really good range. Bluetooth works very well.

I am a professional musician, so I am no stranger to good sound quality, and I am a huge snob when it comes to sound. Yamaha makes great stuff! I own several surround sounds (one in each room of my house, about 7 total). This one is by far the best all around. The good: - crystal clear sound (as long as you have good speakers). - A breeze to set up. - Loud (in a really good way!). - your volume displays on the TV so no guessing what volume you are at. - memory guard - line out for the sub - ypao microphone for setup. Makes it super easy to set up your speakers. And extremely accurate! - lots of custom settings (if needed). - 4k compatible - will shut off signal if you have a short, keeping you from blowing anything. - smart enough to know what I plugged in and name it for me (i.e. Roku, Chromecast, Xbox, etc.). - I could go on and on The bad: I personally don't like this remote compared to the last few models of this amp/receiver. I much prefer having the 1-4 HDMI selectors at the top of the old remote. - slow at loading when changing from one input to another. - the manual comes on a CD ROM. Bottom line, if you want top-notch cinema sound you will not be disappointed with this amp. I've heard all the nonsense about some more expensive receivers, but I'm telling you this amp is the best (in sound quality for home use). Obviously not powerful enough for a stadium or really large room (200 plus seater). I would and have recommended this product to friends. And just FYI, several of my friends and family have tried to get another brand to try and out do me (like a competition) and every one of them have told me how disappointed they are for not going with the Yamaha. Remember, Yamaha pioneered home receivers.

If you’re looking for something easy to connect with great sound along with great features this should be your 1st choice.

Connects directly to wifi. Sound quality is exceptional. Plays music from apps on my phone. Easy to connect.

I use this with a Sony 4K TV, XBOX ONE X, Nvidia Shield and a PC. Works very well, great picture and sound. A limited number of HDMI ports and remote is a bit odd, otherwise a great value for money.

One of the few 5.1 receiver amps you carry. Plenty powerful for 5.1 speakers. Preamp only for subwoofer (. 1) easy set up. Has Bluetooth to broadcast to headphones or 2nd set of speakers.

For the money the ease of use and sound quality is superb! Love streaming music with it using polk t50 floor speakers

Easy setup. Used in surround system. It did an excellent job of adjusting the surround sound.

I have a Denon system from about 8 years ago. I purchased this for my parents to replace an old Bose product. The features included in this system was more than I expected. My objective was to meet a need for some basic features. When I set it up, one revelation led to another which resulted in some really great sound. The feature set included with this receiver is well worth the most reasonable price!

The Yamaha receiver has great sound and was easy to setup. Great value for the cost.
