Replaced my 9 year old Yamaha Receiver. With my old speaker system it sounds way better. More watts and 4 k Sound is awesome. Next I will replace speakers and this system will be perfect

Out of the box, the surround sound was good... The only complaint I have, and this is why 4 stars instead of 5, I ran the calabration using the included mic, didn't work so well. It keeps giving a W1 error which means that one of more speakers are out of phase, ( + and - wires are reversed). Problem is that it doesn't tell you which speakers are out of phase. I checked all 6 speakers and the wires are correct. I manually set all of the speaker settings levels, afterwards, the sound will knock you our of your seat. One other thing I didn't like is the EQ, there is no global EQ... You have to adjust the equalizer settings one speaker at a time and with 6 speakers, it takes a lot of time. There is an auto setting to let the unit adjust the levels, but the bass isn't booming enough and the high end sounds are way to high pitched. BTW, all of my speakers except the subwoofer are Bose, so there is nothing wrong with the speakers. Either way, once you get it setup right the unit outputs very high quality sound.

This is my third Yamaha audio video receiver. They have never disappointed me. This receiver is perfect for my man cave and sounds great. It has a lot of features and it is very easy to operate.

My old receiver (a Yamaha) was having an issue with her IR and the remote no longer worked. A real pain. So I read a few reviews on Hifi audio sites and thought this receiver would work great. I wasn't wrong. Not only does she provide just as much juice as my old Yamaha, she sounds a little cleaner. There are other features such as the Bluetooth audio, Pandora, and Apple I pod connectivity that I haven't tried out yet but I am not disappointed.

We use this receiver with 4 speakers in an outdoor covered patio setting. Love the Bluetooth capability for streaming music and love the fact we can use 2 speakers or turn on the additional 2 speakers for broader coverage outside. Only negative is that we have it up high so if we are just listening to the radio, we can't see what station it's on so we preset what we like and don't worry about seeing it. This receiver meets our needs wonderfully.

I was looking for a minimal receiver that sounded good. This doesn't have a ton of features, but I wasn't looking for a lot. I only needed a few HDMI ports, and my wife wanted the WiFi to play music. I still have to test the music over WiFi, but we've been having good luck with the sound for our TV. Something I didn't expect was that it automatically switches inputs when it detects the signal. That actually confused my wife when she was trying to watch TV without the receiver after watching a Blu-ray. It wouldn't play the sound on the TV until we manually switched the input on the receiver then turned it off for the pass thru. It had been at least as good as expected.

I was looking for a wifi receiver that could play off of a computer, phone, along with spotify and pandora. This one checked all the boxes. It works great!

I recently purchased this receiver to replace and older Yamaha 5.1 receiver that the HDMI board went bad. The difference in picture quality and sound was noticeable after using the YPAO calibration. Very easy to setup including wifi. I have always been a big fan of the Yamaha sound. I bought when it was on sale and had 2 gift cards from Christmas. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought this amp to play 2 channel stereo. Yes I am old-school. But, I found the other features to be great. Especially blue-tooth.

Rated highly. Easiest set-up ever! Husband had been looking at another Denon but likes this one even better! No regrets.

Nice av receiver for the money ( paid $130 sealed including tax and 4 year protection plan in BB).I was looking for RX-V683 but I find this one as clearance model for 25% price of RX-V683 and I'm very satisfied. Nice sound internet radio, bluetooth ,Alexa connectivity and enough futures. Even for the current price($280) is worth buying.

Great receiver. I use it with a projector and a Roku. I also use it daily with my phone for listening to Spotify via bluetooth connection. All the great features you're looking for. Lots of HDMi inputs. 5.1 channels is perfect. Nobody ever uses the added 2 channels in a 7.1 setup.

Compair to my old receiver that I’ve been using for 15yrs old, Its a huge huge difference, the sound is so clear, crisp and better sound, really loved it, for those looking for receiver Yamaha is one of the best receiver. Its has hdmi, bluetooth, stream music like pandora.highly recommend!!!
