Tech gear is my business. I have installed many home theater systems for my customers. From the pawn shop college dorm setup, to the customer who wants the best of the best with no budget. Yamaha - 725W 5.1-Ch. Network-Ready 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver has always been a middle of the pack option vs other options. When planning customer's setup, I was told to stick to a overall budget, and meet some pretty high performance expectations. I noticed this unit on clearance at our local Best Buy when putting together estimate and plan for my client. I gambled on this selection due to upscale expectations of the home owner. Since being blown away at the Yamaha - 725W 5.1-Ch. Network-Ready 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver performance, I have since gone to this model when customers ask for suggestions. The specs of this unit give this unit no credit for the quality of components and the pure and rich sounds. Well planned circuit boards make unit outperform higher end units with poor planned designs. When it comes to sound, quality over quantity is paramount. Lower end hardware blows many of the big priced tag options on the market in this case. Virtually zero impedance by cramming every inch of box with bulky high priced components. A truly underrated model. The craftsmanship and thought put into components, and easy to use interface make this a great choice when looking for value at premium performance expectations.

I was looking for a good receiver at a reasonable price. I saw this Yamaha at Best Buy on sale and I saw the reviews were very good so I bought it. Hook up was very easy and when i turned it on.. Wow. I was blown away by how good it made my new Sony 4K tv sound. I am very happy and would highly recommend this Yamaha.

This receiver is great. I can listen to music through my wireless headphones while my husband is watching television in the same room( tv is not hooked up to the receiver). The sound is excellent. I recommend this to anyone who wants to listen to their music on wireless Bluetooth headphones and not worry about disturbing anyone else in the room.

Has plenty of power to drive my 5.1 system. Sound quality is excellent when paired with my Polk Speakers. The feature set is great at this price range. 4K HDR compatible HDMI inputs/output. Plenty of great listening modes/DSPs. HDMI pass through works great for when I want to just use the TV without turning the receiver on. Apple AirPlay is seamless.

I needed to upgrade my new 4K LG TV and Sony BluRay player with quality sounds. I didn't require more than front and center speakers so I use the rear channels for another room. I also needed WiFi reception AND Bluetooth reception/transmission. Yes! It works great!! Exactly what I needed/wanted.

Bought this Yamaha receiver to replace a 22 year old Pioneer with one dead audio channel. Just amazing the improvements over the years. I use the wifi and bluetooth capabilities all the time. And love the true 5.1 channel capability versus the simulated surround of the old Pioneer. Excellent receiver for the home theater.

I picked this up about a year ago to run a couple tower speakers and a sub from. Works great for the price.

I have always had a Sony receiver. It went out and I decided to change it up a bit and went with a Yamaha. So far I am very impressed with the sound quality, the ease of setting it up and the features that came with it. I thought I needed new speakers but the new more powerful receiver made my old speakers sound great!

Needed a receiver with wifi to be able to change radio stations and stream music from outside patio from my phone and it does . You do this thru their MusicCast app and it works pretty good..It does freeze sometimes. Dont know how well it works as a 5.1 system as i have not hooked it up for that yet. Sound is clean and good.

This is a great receiver to start your 5.1 surround sound system. It was very easy to hook up, update and change the settings. It also doesn't put off much heat. It has many capabilities which i use frequently, spotify, Bluetooth, airplay and has 4k passthrough capability with a great price.

I got this Yamaha receiver to replace one that just failed. I wanted upgrade to 4K video and this receiver is exactly what I wanted. Setup was easy. Video through the receive is very good. I also bought a 4K Blu-ray player. It works fine with the receiver.

Our previous 10 yr old receiver was a casualty of a lightening strike to our home. We researched replacements online and my husband, who loves his music and electronics, found this beauty! Great reviews hold true. This receiver performs perfectly for us, surround sound is great. Features work great and are easy to navigate. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Receiver sounds great work so well with airplay. Happy with purchase and would really recommend as an upgrade to home theater.

Great receiver with Bluetooth and networking capabilities. Just wish it has power outlets to plug in my sub and other devices lie my old receiver had.

Bought this one because I have had YAMAHA in the past and this one did not disappoint. I love all the new features such as the Bluetooth capabilities. This allowed me to clean up so many extra wires and devices. So far I have had it for over a month and it works perfect.

Great receiver for my gameroom, has all the features I need at a reasonable price. Didn't need a big 7.2 receiver with all the bells and whistles, this one works great. Originally had a Pioneer Elite in this room but the sub went out and I ended up with this Yamaha. Kinda glad it happened.

It had all the features I wanted plus more. Easy to operate. Versatile for my needs.
