Sounds awesome through Bluetooth devices. I have an audioengine B1 through optical. Klipsch F2s and a Polk PSW10. Steaming through my phone is excellent.

Looked at Marantz Onkyo NAD, and Soneys 2000 $ amps, and listened to many audio files expressing their opinions on U Tube, I finally came to my decision to purchase this Amp, and I’m happy I did! The silver version is beautiful!

This was a good upgrade our older Yamaha receiver/amplifier. The sound transmission is wonderful. Runs hotter than the old unit, and does not have AM/FM radio.

Excellent amp. Paired with klipsch rp8000f and its sounds amazing. Plenty of power and I don’t think there is any amp can compete in this price point. Very rich sound and very well balanced too. Absolutely recommend this integrated amp.

The amp has pure clean sound. It can drive my 30 year old ADS 1290/2's with ease and with my Marantz turntable its back to vinyl listening.

I inherited a pair RF7 Klipsch and i wanted a amp that would push it but not be to expensive. This amp hits way above its price. I love the vintage look. Great amp for just plain ole right and left. Love it.

I have owned serious equipment in the past... I am in no way stating that this amp compares directly, but.... Considering price and value along with Realtime listening situations without side by side comparisons this amp is simply incredible. As with Yamaha in the past...no bells and whistles just clean, clear, precise sound. I highly recommend this product. I recommend using the "pure direct" function.....perfect!

    What A Difference!

This is the last 2 channel A+B AMP you'll ever need to buy. Unreal bang for the buck, literally and figuratively. Things i love: LOUDNESS CONTROL -as long as you're not in pure direct mode, this knob will make you love your blu ray movies again! I live in a condo and that was a major issue for me. Always turning the volume up and down and up and down. NO MORE! VOLUME KNOB AND OTHER SWITCHES/KNOBS The volume knob runs on a motor and reminds me of better days when way more people though hifi was cool. Now we live in the mp3 age : ( POWER -Cant even bring the dial above 20% without it being room shaking. For me this is amazing, coming from my hollow/weak sounding Onkyo NR727, where i had to have the volume above 45 to achieve short bursts of the same power from the Yamaha at 15%. USB DAC (ASIO) -unreal. Absolutely the cleanest digital source i've ever used. If you are buying this amp because of its usb dac, make sure you have Windows and install the driver. Also, make sure you have a media player software that can do ASIO. I use JRIVER MEDIA PLAYER which has a 30 day free trial and another 30 day trial extension. Very worth the money and has an awesome controller app you can buy for iphone (also very worth the money). The S801 replaced my Onkyo NR727 reciever. After spending time with the S801, I'm very embarrassed that i put up with that piece of junk Onkyo for so long! Setup: RP-600m, 12AWG wire bi-amp, Yamaha A-S801, WINDOWS 10 via USB DAC and JRIVER Media Player ASIO direct connection Things I Hate: Has this weird smell but its not like they made this in a perfume factory so i wont knock it for that.

Great amp. I recently changed from a 3.1 surround system to a 2.1 stereo. The sound is excellent, it is very clean and detailed. The setup is simply plug and play. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to listen hd audio. This amp is more than capable of filling a large room with sound

Beyond MidFi - I'm happy with the Yamaha

This is a great integrated amplifier / DAC for the money!!! The classic Yamaha look is nice, and more importantly the amplifier is strong, musical, smooth, pleasing, listenable. I put together an inexpensive system with Elac Unifi UF5 speakers and a Cambridge CXC and also use it with the digital optical output of my TV. It all sounds great, certainly great for the money! One warning to new buyers: there is a "standby" switch on the back which IMO you will definitely want to turn OFF (it is ON by default). You don't want the beast going to sleep on you while you're listening to it.... While I like that it has gold-plated binding posts, I would have much preferred if a) they were compatible with spade connectors (I ended up buying an Audioquest banana-plug speaker cable, which is a good match for this grade of equipment), and equally importantly b) if the mounting of the binding posts were much more solid - they definitely move around as you push in a banana plug, making one worried about breaking something.... At a design level, what I would have liked very much would be to have even more digital inputs available - the independent digital coax, digital optical and USB are nice, but the USB is limited requiring a Yamaha software driver for Windows or Mac and so for example not compatible with a Bryston BDP-Pi (Linux-based). I predict that the next generation will have at least 2 digital optical and 2 digital coax inputs....

Picked up a pair of B&W 603s which are awesome I must say. But I picked up the Marantz 7012 as well to pair with them. I already had the 1403 which the B&Ws sounded good with but felt it was lacking the push needed for the speakers to open up without having to crank the 1403. Got the 7012 and was excited to hear what I was hoping for. Hooked it up and was thoroughly dissapointed to say the least. I love my 1403 and I wanted to like the 7012 but it didnt seem at all as "musical" as the lower powered 1403. I sat for days trying to fine tune the sound with the manual eq but nothing I did came even close to the sound of the 1403. Not to mention it seemed ridiculous having to eq every record/CD/bluetooth without ever really getting satisfying sound. The sound just seemed too processed, dull and lifeless. For movies and bells/whistles the 7012 is great but for music it was just dissapointing. Did some research and came across this A-S801. Brought back fond memories of my Fathers old Yamaha from the 80s as a kid. Rich warm pleasing full bodied sound. Decided to pull the trigger on the 801 and couldnt be happier. Plugged it in, put in the banana plugs, turned it on and right from the gate zero burn in the 603s came to life. Couldnt help but smile for the next 3 hours listening to it, still smiling for that matter. I swear the 603s are too. The best part was I didnt have to calibrate it and run Audyssey before hearing it. Just plugged it in and pressed play. Simple bass, treble and loudness knobs. Not to mention it looks purrty in silver. Long story short, if your looking for a great sounding musical amp under 1k, try out this 801. Plenty of clean power, no nonsense clear rich sound. And its getting better every day. Highly Recommend.
