I was lucky to get one these in Dec 2020. They are hard to find. This is the flagship Yamaha receiver, great performer. I was not interested in the 8K models since 8K is way off in the future. I am using this with the Yamaha MX-A 5200 power amp.

Haven't had the unit that long, but so far I am pretty pleased: great sound separation, great options for configuration, intuitive GUI. I am however a believer in giving these things some time, so we'll see, but so far so good.

This is a great sounding unit with movies and music loaded with features very flexible just wish I could spend more time listening and watching but I can’t because there is a loud popping sound come out my speakers after an hour or two called Yamaha about it they said to take it to a service center to have it repaired 4 months less than a few week of use now I have to drive 30 miles to 30 miles back and wait minimum 15 days before the service center can look at it .

Good receiver, but BestBuy screwed up royally, sold the item as excellent condition, whereas it came without an accessory, no box, and was damaged. Unfortunately, I did not notice it in time for return, so kept it but beware.

I'm glad that I chose the RX-A3080 over the RX-A2080. Paired with an RX-A1080.

Getting great sound and easy to use. Nothing more to say.

This is a super AVR. If you want the best, here it is.

Was looking forward to using this beautiful amp but after installing it I started getting loud popping sounds when switching to different connected inputs. Then when I pressed Av1 to watch a Blu-ray the amp decides to switch to Audio 1 even though there was nothing plugged into that input. The final straw was when watching cable tv and changing channels the audio would cut out for 5-10 seconds before resuming. This was happening with every channel and input!! Best Buy had to sell me a faulty unit because I’ve never had a Yamaha receiver malfunction like this. I returned it and will try to find somewhere else to buy another one because I love the machine.

This was the second time geek squad was here and did not fix the problem. He referred it to his boss who was going to make contact with me. No phone call!!!!!

Don't bother ordering. This is just a bait and switch. They will tell you the item will be ready to be picked up on a day certain about a week later but then on that day tell you its delayed and keep you hanging until you figure it out. They give you an option to buy something else-a classic bait and switch game. Horrible business practice. Amazon, here I come. At least Amazon is honest when they don't have them in stock and don't put a hold on your card before they ship.
