Not if you're a perfectionist. I bought this for my son who loves yokai and, since it has 3 save files, I decided to give a shot myself (I personally really enjoy Pokemon games). It's a fairly simple game and if you're just interested in the story you will get a lot out of it. However, for those of us who have to fill our pokedex, the game can be unbelievably frustrating. Yokai only join whenever they want (extremely low odds) and the only way to help convince them is by feeding them overpriced consumables(only one consumable per fight). Even still, feeding rarely seems to work. On the 'early' yokai I've easily fed and dispatched over 100 and have only had 3-4 decide to join me. Definitely NOT a pleasant experience especially when you need certain yokai to do side quests.

If you like Yo Kai watch then you will enjoy this game. Similar in playing style to the Fleshy Spirits/Bony Spirits games that preceded it, except you can befriend new characters and explore new worlds. My 8 yr old son loves the game!

I bought this game for my 9 year old daughter. All of my kids love Yo-Kai Watch, and have each of the first two games. My son also got this game as a download from the Nintendo eshop to get the bonus character. Both have them have spent hours with this game and love it. They can't stop talking about it. There seems to be enough new content from the previous two versions of this game that I don't feel like I just paid full price for a small expansion pack. Also, you do NOT need either of the two other versions to be able to play this one.

Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters is the third in the latest generation of Yo-Kai Watch games to come to America. The games consist of exploring a city filled with Yo-Kai (ghosts and demons, essentially), and adding them to your stable of monsters to fight with. The loop of fighting, leveling up, and capturing monsters is very similar to the pokemon games, so if you have played the latest Pokemon game and are looking for something new, I'd grab this. If you already have a version of Yo-Kai Watch 2, there is a new area and some new quests, but not much else.

I got this for my Yo-kai addicted 5 year old. She absolutely loves it. From my POV, it's a lot like the earlier games but I'm likely not the intended audience. If the kid is happy, I'm happy. Well done, Nintendo.

Great game following up the others in this series. They keep going with the yo- watch series when they could have killed it off by now in todays standards. Lucky for most who luv these it hasnt...

A full year after the release of Yo Kai Watch 2 Fleshy/Bony this game is the conclusion. It's great to pick up if you have not yet played Yo Kai Watch 2,but offers little more than a few more post game missions. It does include the full game as well,making Fleshy and Bony obsolete. For a franchise so desperate to not be compared to Pokemon,it does little to stand out in my opinion. On the plus side, the game is fun and has a ton of cute yo Kai to collect. It's good for younger players that love the franchise. The downside is needing to trade to complete your collection of yo kai. Until this installment was released, the game was incomplete.

This game is great! It's so fun and cute, it makes so many improvements from the first YoKai Watch game! It's got a lot of positive messages and fun gameplay, but if you're getting this for a young kid, be warned there's some bathroom humor, but nothing really too over the top. Overall, it's just a really fun game about friendship, with some lovely art and animation.

My 7YO is obsessed with Yokai Watch, and absolutely loves Psychic Specters. This is probably the best installment of Yokai Watch to date.

If you want more Yo-Kai Watch, this is a solid entry. I wish more of the content was new (very similar to the previous Yo-Kai Watch 2 games), but if you're a big fan, there's enough fresh stuff here to make you happy.

If you like any of the others, you will like this one! Just like the others, but with more to do and more Yo-Kai to collect!

The definitive version of Yo-Kai Watch 2 doesn't disappoint! Same great gameplay with that little bit of extra content to make things more enjoyable. Worth it if you haven't played the second entry yet!

Didn’t know anything about this game when I bought it. Have been pleasantly surprised at how much fun it is for everyone.

Keeps my boy occupied on his Nintendo 3DS. He likes the game and the yokai ghosts.

This game is similar to Pokémon but has awesome features that aren’t in Pokemon

I'm a fan of this series, and if you are too then you'll likely enjoy this game.
