It's pretty confusing at the start, but after a while, you'll get a hang of it. Befriending yokai is a little annoying though, since it's entirely luck based and there's pretty much no way to make it easier

I heard great things about this game, and don't get me wrong it is fun, but not as fun as expected. I'd pick it up for $20 and under. But don't pay full price.

This game is super fun and addictive. Initial thought it was a Pokemon clone because you go around "catching" monsters and battling... But it really isn't. Much more complex "catching" system. Battling is interesting. you always have 6 monsters that you rotate around. They kind of do their own thing but you do have to pay attention and control them. For the more in depth gamers: there are IVs and EVs just like Pokemon.. There is also fusion like SMT. It's pretty crazy how in depth this game is considering it's aimed towards kids. The story is silly but no too childish. Def a great pick up.

Very fun game similar to Pokemon. I really enjoy the Pokemon games so yokai watch is right up my alley. Like Pokemon it does get repetitive

I bought this game for my 9 year old who loves Pokemon. This is a great Pokemon like game. He was thrilled with it and played it all Christmas day.

Very similar to Pokemon in many ways yet refreshing and new. I gave this to someone who has played all the Pokemon games to completion and was getting tired of re-playing them.

This came with the 2ds I gave my son for Christmas, and after playing his for a few minutes that turned into hours I purchased for myself.

This game was a hit in Japan and was brought over to the US. It is sound gameplay and an interesting premise. It is, in its nature, a Japanese game. Overall fun to play.

My son liked the fighting engine as it utilizes the touch screen in a cool way! The story starts slow but becomes a great adventure! Goes along with the show on DisneyXD!

Something new other than Pokemon but i barely started the game so this is just an early review. Graphics aren't bad for the 3ds and the game play seems good so far.

Buy this game, it's a great story with lots to do, the battle system can feel dull sometimes but the game is overall very good.

This game focuses more on single player and story as Pokemon goes more into competitive and multiplayer. This game is amazing.

I received this game for my birthday. Being one whom love RPG's and have always tried getting into the Pokemon games in the past, I just can't do it, as the battle system seems overly simplistic. I really love the "theme" and graphic style to this game and the character is much more personable and can be related to much better than the main from Pokemon. Also, the battle system is MUCH more involving and fun to fight. Tons more interaction. I would definitely buy a 3DS for this game!

If you like Pokemon games, you will like Yo-kai Watch. The game is similar but has far better graphics. The fighting is more gesture orientated.
