Customers have good things to say about the gameplay, charming characters, and humor in Yooka-Laylee, describing it as a fun and nostalgic experience reminiscent of classic platformers. However, some customers point to occasional camera issues, somewhat slippery controls, and aspects of the level design as areas needing improvement. The game's difficulty was also cited as a potential drawback for younger players. While generally well-received for its charming qualities, some technical and design elements received criticism.

Yooka-Laylee is a fun throwback to the 3D platformers we played in the late 90's. The game isn't perfect but it's charming and fun. Great for all ages.

This game is very reminiscent of the N64 era of 3d platforming such as Banjo-Kazooie, Mario 64, and Donkey Kong 64. It is a collectathon game with many different items to obtain. While there is nothing tremendously inovative about the game it is still extremely fun getting lost in large expansive levels while trying to find the items you need.

This Game is a lot like Banjo-Kazooie, which is a good thing. I like the 3D platformers of back in the day. Nice solid graphics and good controls.

A cool throwback to the old school platformers. For a Kickstarter-funded game, there is a surprising amount of content and the graphics are great.

If you enjoyed Banjo games on N64 then you`ll feel right at home with this game, despite camera issues and stages being a little bit too big...

Got the game on sale. Wouldn't buy it for 40. It's a fun game that takes me back to the Nintendo 64 days. But it has way to much filler.

A good game from some of the people who worked on Banjo-Kazooie. Just as a heads up, don't expect it to be a carbon copy of said game.

The game is pretty, the music is great! The game is frustrating, the dialogue irate!
The nostalgia is all there from Banjo Kazookie.

Fans of banjo kazoooie for N64 should buy this game. There were some camera issues but they are being fixed. It's still a fun game.

Nostalgia That Doesn't Hold Up

While Yooka Laylee is definitely a trip down memory lane for those of us who played the old Rare games on the Nintendo 64, it really doesn't hold up to today's standards of gameplay. The game is very reminiscent of Banjo Kazooie but its charm will quickly wear off. The game is passable and if it's cheap, I would try it for nostalgia's sake, but I wouldn't spend full price for it.
