For someone like me who grew up in the age of Rare games like Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64, Yooka-Laylee will give you an amazing feeling of nostalgia and fun harkening back to those old days. New players who are used to today's games may not be as intrigued, as I just can't seem to get my kids into it. So it's a hit or miss - but for me, it's definitely a hit.

I thought this was a good game, but it wasn't perfect. It brought back that feeling of the N64 games, but it wasn't a deep game. I would have preferred for them to take their own twist on the genre. Whereas, this was more of a straight remaking of that era. If you are nostalgic for the N64 era games, then this one is for you!

Taking the game design principles that they perfected back on N64, Playtonic has once again made a super enjoyable platformer the likes of which hasn't been seen in years. In a time where these type of games don't come around that often, it is so refreshing to get this game and for it to deliver on it's pre release potential.

It's not a platforming pinnacle, but these characters offer some great throwback fun for us N64 platforming fans.

This game is a good throwback to that classic platformers. It succeeds in some spots in others it's not so great. The world is bright, colorful, & fun. There is certain levels that aren't that great & the voice acting is awful. But there is plenty to overlook & it is a good game. The biggest downfall is the camera.

Recapturing memories of games like the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, with a bit of Donkey Kong 64 thrown in there for good measure. Some of the mechanics in the game are not perfect but if you can get for a good price its worth checking out

This is a pretty good game. The lack of voice acting gets old fast and it is REALLY hard at times. Young kids have no chance with this game in spite of the childlike appearance of the characters.

For everyone! Has a great minigame setup in main menu if you need a break from main quest. Characters and worlds are reminiscent of spyro and ratchet and clank but seperated enough to be enjoyed as a new journey and experience.

This game has been patched to fix most issues with the initial reviews so don't trust the mediocre reviews on sites. It's a lot of fun and a throwback to 90's platformers. My daughter and I love to play it together.

I loved the old Banjo Kazooie game. This is a fun sequel. A little confusing at times. The boards are big and there is no map to speak of. Vibrant colors make it really pop on the tv.

    Spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie

For those who don't know, this game began as a Kickstarter project by former members of Rare who worked on Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. Their goal with this game was to make a very similar style title that feels like another game of the N64 era but with modern graphics. As such there's nothing really revolutionary about it, but it plays well enough and features several totally unique feeling worlds to explore with new powerups to acquire along the way. The music is also done by David Wise, who made a lot of the music for Rare's games in the 90's and more recently the music for Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze on Wii U.

Great game reminiscent of BanjoKazooie-Tooie. I grew up playing the two and despite being older, enjoy playing such an easy going game albeit challenging at times. Multiplayer is limited in types of games but my younger brothers enjoy it and easy enough to learn for younger audiences.

While the game has technical problems and several flaws on its level design, it´s still fun to play, especially if you loved platformers like Banjo Kazooie or Spyro.
