So to be honest, I never played the original release of this game. To be honest, it’s probably better that way, but it’s likely great regardless. It includes all the DLC, an exclusive (albeit very short) story campaign, and exclusive cards! It’s a must-buy for any yugioh fan. Many endless hours of content here, especially online.

Yugioh since Legacy of the Duelist, was a great game on the PS4 but lack the newer cards and the newer format of link summons. Link Evolutaion fixes this problem, while also adding in more modern cards and more story modes based on the anime. If you like card base games their is a lot to find here. You can play story mode, unlock cards, buy cards with money earned through playing to help build decks. You can also play sealed and draft with the CPU or friends online. Great game and well worth the price. It's also great wee are finally getting a physical copy.... got the love the Switch!

A flashback from the past! This game is great for the price I got it for $20. Definitely worth it if you’re looking for a good old card game with opportunity to build your deck. The game also lets you use the decks of characters. You’re also allowed to revisit duels but playing from the opposite side. Great overall

The Collectable Card Game faithfully follows famous Duels and story arcs from the series. From powerful summons to memorable characters. This game shows everything a fan of the series would enjoy.

The cards included are mediocre imo. I mean cmon. You wont be getting it for that. Besides that the game harkens back to those awesome gameboy advance days of yugioh. If youre a longtime or oldtime fan like me you will love it for that. But that is also its weakness. The game for what it is, is great but considering it was bumped up in price (i believe it came out 2015 with less cards and stuff and maybe at 20 bucks and digital only for ps4/xb1)... well they could have done better. Granted its not 60 dollars but even at 40 we deserve a tad more. It is set up almost EXACTLY like the gba games from back in the day. Meaning its card vs card no real animation of monsters and stuff. You get a 2 second video clip of only the most popular monsters used by notorious and very high profile characters. Blue eyes for kaiba and DM for yugi as an example and maybe a couple others as i see a clip for DM girl too. Anyway they could have done a bit more here. Also getting the cards is a pain. At first its one thing to buy packs 1 by 1 but jeez it never gives the option to buy multiple so youre stuck 24 7 opening 1 by 1. Man oh man is it annoying and time consuming. Cards only save up to 3 copies of each in the trunk which thats all you normally can have when making 1 deck anyway, however you will keep getting the same cards in a deck so to obtain all cards in one or obtain x3 copies of each will take tons and tons of buys.. individually 1 by 1. I literally did it on the first pack maybe 100x and havent unlocked x3 copy of all cards for it yet. Which is really messed up. Also its cool to be able to duel in each generation and witness the stories but they are JUST like gba once again. Its a card for card game and you get a picture of a person and then text to read. No voice over. If not video, at least voice and stuff would have been super cool to see. But nooope. Also the dueling and the "mat" is set up just like any game you play today i guess? I was a fan until GX maybe a little bit into GX but that was it, so THAT is why i bought the game to try as up until now i played the gba variants for my yugioh fix.. anyway, its set up like today standards EVEN IN the first generation storyline. Meaning theres 2 upper spots for fusion and xyz summons and whatnot plus the 5 normal zones. Technically you can have 6 at one time it seems because of this and the AI once (later on) did just that before i used a Riegiki card. So thats odd and annoying to see. And some characters arent shown.. you got PaniK and Bones but you dont have the labyrinth twins you dont show the Duke devlin guy or fiendish 5 etc. So the stories are condensed it seems in a sense but they leave out these other key characters and awesome plots too so they can wrap up the story as fast as possible. Lastly, its still awesome and sort of.. worth 40 bucks, but they could have done a heck of a lot more and added to it to spice it up and be worth the 40 bucks. Within a month of release it was going on sale for 29.99, that says alot imo. I knocked another 5 off with BB rewards so my price was VERY fair to me that i paid. Hopefully the next installment is better and done way better from having the choice of animations of monsters to buying multiple packs of cards to just a better presentation. Some voices and stuff would be cool if not actual video segments. Also id say including perhaps a hidden game or two or all past gameboy and advance games in a "retro" mode would be suuuuper cool i swear. Im not saying DS games, but just the gameboy line. Also add a Fast Forward option for the normal game as well as a super FF option if this retro mode happened. And lastly add some video segments or showings. At the very least do it for when you beat a boss or for ending of each generation. Then again, a compilation like this may not happen again anyway. But thanks to konami and best buy for this game and purchase. I look forward to enjoying it as my main yugioh fix from now on.. thanks again

I'll put this in a pros and cons list for easy consuming: Pros: *A decent amount of content for the price (especially if it is on sale!) *Goes through almost all of the Yu-Gi-Oh plotline from the different seasons *Master Rule 5 *The AI makes sense for the most part *Most likely includes your favorite cards *Very accessible to newcomers and explains the newer mechanics, if you are a returning player Cons: *No cutscenes with dialogue, be prepared to read *Online is not the best, expect to want to stay offline *Expect to play against AI with banned cards. That sometimes will make the experience less fun. Overall: I would recommend the purchase to any Yu-Gi-Oh fan with a Switch. (Also it comes with 3 exclusive cards!)

I bought the regular version of this game for X-Box and for PC because when it came out in 2015 and it is one of the best Yu-Gi-Oh games released. If you want an up to date Duel Monsters game that has story and just about every trading card available, then this is it. Now, the Nintendo Switch version has been released with the added Link Evolution DLC and it pretty much adds the the VRAINS saga to the game and all the Duel Monster cards included with it. The graphics have also been changed a little when you are dueling and it really breathes some life into the game if you have already bought the previous version and want a reason to pick this one up. The animations for when you summon a monster like Dark Magician have been redone and IT IS LITERALLY WORTH BUYING THIS GAME AGAIN because they did an amazing job at it. I love that they touched up some stuff to make it feel like you get a better game after 4 years.

If you ever want to learn or get back I to Yugioh this is the best way. It's the most recent game so it has all the cards. It goes through most of the stories of all the series. No voice acting. You have the option to use the story deck or your own. Making your own deck is simple. You get a lot of points once you complete a series. Then go to the story and buy the cards and that's it. It's pretty simple and easy to pick up.

This is a definitive Yugioh title right here, with every Duel Monsters tv show accounted for. Every card you could want, for online and offline play. D-d-d-duel! Now, call me crazy, but I like story modes. There's not really a story mode in here per se. You get text that recreates the main plots of the series, but no dedicated original plot or campaign mode. Either way, you like Yugioh, you want this game. Have fun in the shadow realmmmm!

Here's a tip if you don't want the cards inside sell them on Ebay. This will make the overpriced game easier to stomach. It's a great game don't get me wrong but if it wasn't for the 10 dollar coupon and being able to sell the promo cards I would wait for a discount.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution has just received a free update that brings the total number of cards you can use in this game to over 10,000! It also bumped up the number of characters you can play against to over 150. Even if you don't keep up with the new rules, or if you haven't watched Yugioh since you were a kid, you can still find enjoyment with this game. Story mode will take you through each character from the very beginning of the series, and you can observe and learn their techniques and strategies. You earn in-game currency by winning duels and then you use that to buy booster packs to flesh out your deck. You also win specific cards from your opponent's deck by defeating them. So just like in real life, there's some luck involved with putting your deck together. It's very simple to play, the game will walk you through each battle step and will prompt you as you go along so it's very user friendly. Truly the most complete, well put together game for people looking for a Yugioh card game simulator. Unbelievable deal here!

This is a very stright-forward Yu-Gi-Oh game. Basically just dueling over and over, which is both it's strength and weakness. It makes it a good casual game, but it becomes pretty repetitive quickly. There is a wide variety of cards and a few types of gameplay (based on the different seasons). Overall would recommend to a Yu-Gi-Oh fan who just would like to casually play on the go.

This game is a great collection of every series so far. It goes through each series with iconic duels, and over 9000 cards and over 200 characters to unlock. That’s basically every card and character to date. It’s easy to control and play and no micro transactions. Such a great way to play!

If you’re looking for a yugioh just purely based on playing the card game and not looking for rpg elements or anything like that then this is the best game to get ever for the series. It has over 9000 cards, All the yugioh series from Yugioh duel monster to gx to 5ds etc with all the stories of their anime’s condensed down to all the important parts and all the important duels. I haven’t watched or played yugioh since 2005 yet when I played this game all the nostalgia came back and it was easy to pick up and remember it as there is a tutorial that breaks the game perfectly for every series. An absolutely must buy for any nostalgic fan or die hard fan or even new fans.

As a former longtime player of the physical card game, I found this to be a good reintroduction to gameplay mechanics with a lot of content available. The story mode lets you play a wide variety of interesting strategies based on characters from all across the show. After playing through a few story mode duels, you get to play against "serious" "hard-mode" themed decks. Although the AI doesn't always play optimally, it's fun to build a deck and test pilot against other strategies. If just playing with handmade decks isn't enough, you can play draft and sealed style with freshly opened packs. In addition to playing against AI, you can also duel online with real players. Seriously, there's a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh to do in this game.

This game offers a ton of content featuring over 9000 cards that I’ll probably never find the time to use each one individually. This version of Duel Links reigns supreme over the PS4 and XBox versions since it includes all DLC and additional story arcs in the main series. I was skeptical about purchasing this game because I only played followed the Yu-Gi-Oh series up until the 5D’s anime. The last Yu-Gi-Oh game I ever played was Tag Force 5 on the PSP but needless to say Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution is perfect for both veteran and newcomer fans alike.

This is a good game for kids that are just starting out and want a good card game. The start of each campaign teaches you how to use the cards and the basics of playing the game and you can play each mission in each campaign with a pre-made "story deck" so you don't have to worry about making your own until later. You can also choose to use from 4 different premade decks if you want to use those and you will earn more decks as you play, but you will need to gather cards for those through Card Packs which are also unlocked from game play. I have been playing the actual card game since it came out in 1996, and I enjoy playing the game here as well.
