The Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4k is a TERRIBLE drone. The camera connection to the controller is always pixelated and you can never get a constant stream of what the camera sees. Continually, it has a mind of its own. I was flying off the end of my dock and the controller screen went black, I lost control of the drone, and it decided to land in the water, and sank immediately. According to Yuneec's Warranty guide, this WILL NOT be covered. I am now left with a broken drone, major repair costs and/or the cost of a completely new drone. If it can even be fixed, I will NEVER have the piece of mind that the drone is safe and won't decide to land elsewhere, such as trees, cars, houses, or even a person. If you are in the market for a drone, DO NOT buy the Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4k, thinking you will save a few hundred dollars over a superior drone. Yuneec has a lot to be desired and the customer service is horrendous.

    Useless Drone

I purchaed this quadcopter and could not be more dissapointed. The FPV range is ridiculous and the camera disconnects constantly. You can't fly it much further than 200ft with out losing the FPV. The camera will only record in 5 min clip, which Yuneec says it's suppoed to do. However, my first flight, I was able to get 13mins of video, so thats not true. The hand held dosen't work and keeps giving me an sd card error. I bought this over the Phantom, because I heard thier customer service was very good. I have gotten nothing but, half answers and now they just don't reply. DON'T BUY THIS DRONE. It's completety useless and buy the time you are finished with the run around from the "great" customer service, it'll be too late to send it back. It's a total waste of money.

    Buyer Beware

Please note that comment is no reflection on Best Buy but you better think twice before buying the Q500 4k or any previous model before the Typhoon H. It appears that Yuneec has dropped the ball as far as support for this and previous models before the H. It has problems with the CGO3 camera not staying level during flight and happens right out of the box.(I have tried three Q500 4k's so far, all with the same issue). In addition, after updating the ST10+ firmware to the latest version, the first low battery warning shows up after the battery level turns red not yellow like it used to. If you wait for the second battery level warning (when the Q500 is supposed to do a controlled landing) you will most likely have a crash as the battery level is too low to support a safe landing. Calling Yuneec tech support resulted with the same response..."ship it to us, it will take at least a month to repair and we will ship it back." If the Q500 4k worked as stated by Yuneec, it would be a great drone.
