I probably can't write anything that will do this album justice. If you like mega bands such as Pearl Jam, STP, or Green Day, I can't see how you could possibly dislike this album. Read more about it on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_Arcade And I'd also suggest reading "Our Band Could Be Your Life": http://tinyurl.com/cgluph6

    Essential 80's punk/indie/college classic

Essential Husker Du album for anyone's collection. A cathartic double-album shot of soul-searching psychedelic pop post-punk, that is actually a concept album, completely unheard of for 1984 in the hardcore community. Certainly a highlight of Husker Du's catalog, but also of the scene and SST Records of the time. You can definitely hear so much of Husker Du's influence with groups like Foo Fighters and the plethora of pop-punk bands to hit popular culture over the last 10 or so years. To get some proper context, be sure to pick up some of the other essential SST Releases of this era like Minutemen's Double Nickel On The Dimes, Meat Puppet's Up on the Sun, Black Flag's Damaged, Sonic Youth's Sister and Evol, oh I could go on and on.... ;)
