The workouts are fun and well worth the investment. The levels of individual songs and workouts (low, medium, high intensity) allow you to work as hard as you want. I never tried it but I'm told it's a huge improvement over Zumba Fitness 1, so if you're trying to decide between the two, I'd go with this one.
