great controller but it’s too small for me
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.pros - it’s wired controller than can be use for Xbox consoles and PC as welll - thick 3m braided cable so won’t you want have to worry about the wire breaking any time soon, it’s also long enough for you to have a playing distance from your console to tv. - made with entirely plastic - each anolog stick have their own RIG design, it add that extra characters to the controller - no issues with analog sensitivity as well, this one of the most important for me to check on when it comes to testing new controller, would this change my in game sensitivity or would it feel natural. no issues at all - I personally prefer the D of feeling of this RIG controller than the original ones, less clicky sounds . - RIG also have their own dedicated app to customize the controller when using the windows computer, the setting is fairly identical to what microsoft offer on their app to customize your controller. - very robust app for customizing your controller, very impressive, great job for Nacon for creating this addition feature - to use these setting at the back at the controller you will see a switch button to go back from standard setup or your custom setting - the controller also comes with dolby atmos activation, does come with an actual code to punch in, but once you plug the controller with headset, just don’t download the dolby app and should unlock the app cons - having issue connecting can’t turn the console on with the xbox button - a lot smaller than standard xbox controller and it felt weird using from an adult size hands. I would recommend this controller for kids - the grip distance for me does feel quite different from what i’m use to, doesn’t feel natural, the distance from LB RB to trigger also take some muscle memory to remember how different the distance between these and the original controller - the back textures compared to the original xbox series controller also doesn’t come close, I get a much better grip from the original controller - it’s called a pro compact controller - didn’t like the fact that the menu setting button we’re quite a little too close to the analog and Y button, mid center location is where i’d choose - couldn’t really tell if the dolby atmos app actually does work from what they tell you, since I already own the app i’m not sure if it actually worked.

For small hands
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this controller alot and would give it 5 stars but being that its not even 1 month with it the right trigger gets stuck if you hold it down for about 3 secs and then pops out on its own about a sec after you let go and no fun with that especially on need for speed when you dont need speed when you let go of it but still goes and i smash a wall

||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having so many problems with this controller. I have a Xbox one S, andafter a few weeks the audio jack has static and. With a new one the left stick doesn't allow me to move the character , forward in any games. It will move for a second and then it will pause the movement! Is okay if I move sideways on each side but going forward, running or walking the character is impossible!

Lighter and no need for batteries
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many differences between a wireless and wired controller but personally feel that wired is the way to go. There is no more worrying about batteries dying at the wrong moment or finding out at the wrong time that you have no more to replace it with. There is no chance that some other device may interfere with the signal of a wired controller like that of a wireless. Even the audio is better when wired all the way than through a wireless controller, especially in an area where there are a lot of wireless devices or multiple consoles. This RIG Nancon PRO compact controller brings all the benefits of a wired controller in a slightly smaller and lighter format than the typical Xbox controller. To me, it feels more like a PlayStation controller with an Xbox layout. It is smaller in the grip area, but most of the buttons still feel and look to be about the same spacing. The only real difference in button placement that may take a second to get used to are the menu buttons. The Pro features come in when you install the Pro Compact app through the Microsoft Store. Through here you can swap buttons around, change the response curve on the thumbsticks and adjust the trigger dead space. What wasn’t so obvious with the included material is that in order to take advantage of these advanced settings you have to flip the switch on the backside so that you can see purple, instead of green. Green is pretty much the default Xbox while purple is for the customized profile. I only learned this through the online manual as it wasn’t so obvious with the limited documentation included. Another feature, and common with RIG, is the inclusion of Dolby Atmos for headphones. Once you connect the controller and install the Dolby Access app, it allows you to change the audio settings to Dolby Atmos for headphones and makes a world of difference with spatial audio. The fact you don’t have to scratch off an activation code made that process really simple. With a pair of wired headphones using the 3.5mm jack on the controller I had crystal clear and uninterrupted audio. I found this controller to really help improve gaming as the response time is noticeable when directly compared to a wireless controller. The Pro features add some aspects of what you find in the more pricey Elite versions of controllers. The buttons and sticks feel responsive. However, the compact size may not be for everyone. I’m a fairly large person and the size of the standard Xbox controller fills my hands. Even the PS4 controllers allow all my fingers to grip the controller. This Nacon Compact is just small enough that my pinky finger now rests under the controller, essentially curled to my hand and not the controller. It’s not a bad thing, but for my large hands it does create a little discomfort for long play sessions. This controller also does not have the expansion port for other accessories, so if you use something like a controller keyboard, it will not work with this controller. Regardless, I still enjoy this controller.

Small But Works Well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The RIG Nacon Compact Controller is a small, but reliable controller. Just like most miniature controllers, it's designed for certain users. However, the size difference really didn't standout during gameplay. I'm a person with long fingers so it took a while to get adjusted. My fear would be catching a cramp while playing, but that didn't occur. The controller feels great in the hand, and the face buttons are slightly larger than standard Xbox controller which is great to compensate for the lack of size. Also, the cable length is more than adequate for wired gaming. The real bonus is the enablement of Dolby Atmos. I prefer wireless gaming, but the sound experience is grand enough for me to overlook the wires across the floor. Overall, the controller is comfortable and very customizable. The only downside is that I wished it was slightly bigger. Nevertheless, this controller works well.

5 Stars for price,4 star for size
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is priced very very well for what you get. Wired(low latency), customizable through pro compact software. Semi Hardcore Gaming oriented. And well built. This is a budget gaming controller for Xbox/pc. And it’s a slightly smaller form factor as well. For me I have pretty large hands and I game every day. Mainly PC. But also on my Xbox one X. I like this controller. But it’s too small for me. But perfect for my 8 yr who loves Roblox and has her own gaming pc as well. She loves it. I did set my gaming settings via the app on my pc. And put mainly all FPS settings. While they help with responsiveness and accuracy. The size gets in the way. But this is labeled as compact. Buttons feel good. The wire is plenty long. No issues there. For the retail price. You/I really can’t complain. I do wish that this version had back buttons. But I do understand the price would go up a bit. Also the thumbs sticks aren’t the exact same size as the original Xbox one controller. So you can’t put your controlfreeks thumb sticks on. They slide around. Head phone jack works as well. I have paired these with the Rig 3D headphones and they work perfectly together. Now my daughter pleaded with me to have both. Lol. We shall see. For the price. You are getting a great deal for less than a stock Microsoft controller. With great gaming features. And a well respected gaming brand. You really can’t go wrong. I’d recommend to a friend or family if they have smaller hands or even for younger children. Xmas is always around the corner.

Great controller but not if you have larger hands
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this controller because of the customization and also the Dolby Atmos feature without having to spend a ton on one of those headsets. Overall I like the look and fell of the controller right out the box until I started to play. I play mostly FPS so the customization via the software was nice to set thresholds on the triggers and I did notice a difference in the response time when turned on via the switch on the back of the controller. Pros: -Controller has built in Dolby Atmos via a plugged in headset and sounds great when adjusted via the sound settings in the XBOX Dashboard. I used my Turtle Beach Headset that was connected to my XBOX via USB before - Buttons are slightly larger than a standard XBOX Controller and I liked that since my hands are a little bigger - Has a nice long USB cord to be able to reach my XBOX across the room without becoming a tripping hazard -Software was easy to setup and configure to use with the toggle switch on the back of the controller with multiple default profiles or you can customize each button individually or remap to your liking - Trigger and shoulder buttons are very solid feeling and I like them as much as if not more than my Elite Controller Cons - If you have larger hands then your pinkies will not have anywhere to rest or grab onto - Due to this your hands may cramp up or just be uncomfortable which will limit how long you will want to play with the controller - Share button is right between the D-Pad and Right Thumbstick so you may end up hitting it by mistake if playing a frenzied fighting game and using the D-Pad Overall I like the look and functionality of the controller I just can't use it for long periods of time due to my hands being larger. It is considerably lighter than the Elite controller so that could be a Pro or Con for someone. If you like your pinkies to hang off or being free OR just have smaller hands where all your fingers will fit then this might be a great controller for you.

Asked by Sundancekid.
