Initially I was unsure of whether this was a good purchase or not. I now know to look at it as a sort of built-in protection plan for my T.V. & Surround Sound System as well as my Xbox One. Which are all of the products that I have powered through this Rocketfish 6-Plug Surge Protector. Had a severe storm the other day that caused the electricity to flicker from time-to-time. Everything except the 3 items listed above, flickered along with the house. My T.V. and Xbox One, I feel, were protected fully in case the power surged from the storm and could have potentially caused damage. Also I should mention that the HDMI Cable that came in the package was well worth it as well. It just looks like a piece of great technology and sturdy as heck!

    Great Power Strip

This is a great power strip. Good quality. I bought to mount under my stand up desk and allow me to only have one power cord coming off the desk for all the stuff needing power on the desk. This also allows some extra USB charging ports also without needing to take up and additional power plug. The ONE negative is that the outlets are oriented in a way that makes it difficult to put the power bricks into it. If they were turned 90 degrees things would fit better. I had to add one of the 1' cord adapters to be able to plug that in. I bought this knowing that I wouldn't use the HDMI cable but the price was right at the time. The HDMI cable seems like a good quality cable.

Good Add On for 4k TV

First off, after researching 4k tvs, I've come to the conclusion that there are few differences between the 4k HDMI cables and the regular old HDMI cables that seem to be multiplying in my supply stash. Several experts say to just use your current cables, if you've purchased them in the last year or so. However, being a "better safe than sorry" guy, I went ahead and purchased this combo the same time I purchased my TV. If you are like me and you're spending a rather large sum of money (for me at least) on a quality tv, might as well spend another $40 on a good surge protector and cable. At regular price $79.00 I would have gone a different route, but I've owned several Insignia and Rocketfish items (Best Buy's private labels) and I've always been happy. Picture looks great and I feel better with a new surge protector protecting my investment. It's also a nice bonus being able to plug in usb items.

    Great Surge Protector

I needed a new surge protector to power all my devices now that they're all sitting together on my shelf. It was on sale on Black Friday for a good price. But I don't think I would have paid full price for it, considering the brand. I like the slim design and that it can accommodate 7 devices. It's also nice that it includes 2 USB ports, but I don't use them. I wish the cord was longer though. It's only 5 feet, and I didn't realize I needed the extra length to account for the cord weaving around my shelf to get to the power outlet. There wasn't a longer cord option for this particular model and the alternative options in the store were very limited. But it does what it was meant to do, so no complaints so far.

    Quality not worth the price

TLDR: Don’t recommend. Both products are cheaply made; HDMI fits loose and outlets are too close. It’s not a super expensive item but I expected better quality for the price. Surge protector outlets are close together and feels cheap as a whole but I guess it looks kinda nice? I like the blue lights on the cheap plastic “button”. HDMI cord’s aesthetically pleasing but is annoyingly loose and unplugs from my Apple TV with the slightest move and just feels like it’s not plugged in all the way or something. The quality is the same as much more affordable 4K HDMI cords that will actually fit ports well. It’s not a super expensive item but I expected better quality for the price.

    Always get a new surge

So, as I stated most people when buying surge protectors buy one maybe two every couple of years. I would suggest if you are getting a new high dollar electronic to buy a new surge protector also. Whether you buy this kind or another just check the rating and what kind of protection it offers. Plus if you have had a big power spike that took out your power or a lightening strike to your home/office you need to replace the surge protector. It will still work as a multi plug device but the Internal components may have been tripped making it useless.

I spent a pretty penny on purchasing a new 4K 65 inch HD smart TV, and also a pretty good surroundsound system to go with it. However I was having problems with accessory components that would not shut off. They would turn off and then five seconds later turn on again miraculously by replacing the cheap HDMI cable I had with the one that was included in this RocketFish bundle my problem is solved. The moral of the story is that if you're going to spend a lot of money on some high quality equipment don't cut corners by getting or reusing old cheap cables. I am he RocketFish guy from now on

I have purchased Rocketfish products in the past and bought this power strip/surge protector based on my satisfaction with those products. There were other surge protectors available that offered similar features, but at a higher price. This power strip has a flat wall plug which is perfect for plugs that sit behind furniture. It also has two built-in high powered USB ports which are perfect for charging your cell phone without the need for an additional plug.
