Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director Guy Ritchie heads back to the London underworld for this hyperkinetic crime comedy concerning a shady land deal that leaves every schemer in the city determined to get rich or die trying. When a Russian mobster orchestrates a lucrative real estate scam, every criminal in London wants a piece of the action. Greed is the universal language, and everyone from unrelenting crime boss Lenny Cole (Tom Wilkinson) to street-smart criminal One Two (Gerard Butler), corrupt accountant Stella (Thandie Newton), and unpredictable punk rocker Johnny Quid (Toby Kebbell) seem to speak it fluently. As the bullets start to fly and the double crosses multiply, there's no telling who will walk away with the fortune after the gun smoke has cleared. Jeremy Piven, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, and Quantum of Solace Bond girl Gemma Arterton co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

      Interesting photography, quick crisp editing

3 of 5 stars to the very odd action movie RocknRolla. The first thing to notice about this movie is the fast crisp style of editing with cut-away scenes that jump around to various story lines. The overall color tones of the photography were kinda like a colorized black and white movie. I think they were going for an old "mobster" (gang) look and feeling. The next thing is too many characters that are not well defined. I was constantly trying to remember who I was seeing and what they have to do with the story. The background was pulsating and quick paced to match the editing style of the movie. So, I just finished watching the whole movie and yet I'm not sure that I can write a summary other than: Russian mafia meets up with London's biggest crime boss. It is a long movie at 1h54m and felt long as I was constantly lost. This one needs a couple of watchings to get it sorted out. So, I'll give it a marginal recommendation and suggest you be prepared to really focus on the movie with your brain engaged.

      A Real RocknRolla

I guess this is a typical Guy Ritchie type of movie. It is and if you don't under British humor, you'll be lost...especially with the lingo and with the accents...but overall...very cheeky movie...As to whether I would recommend this movie to a friend...not would all depend..I enjoyed, especially the open gay twist plot. My boyfriend and I died laughing at Gerard's expressions. Brillant!!! and the dancing scene...loved it...especially at the end of the have to watch it all the way to the end...

For any Guy Ritchie film fan, this is another homerun. The way he intermingles several plots to conclude in one ending is amazing and very intriguing to watch. His in depth character development and outstanding acting, is always well done, and entertaining. .. most from the seedier side of London. Though because of this some may find the accent heavy and hard to understand at times. It's still easy to watch despite that. Just be aware, these are movies for thinkers. The several plots have flashbacks, and seem unrelated ... until the end, when it all makes sense.

      No Action!

Guy Ritchie is a great director and from the title RocknRolla youd expect this to be as good as let's say Revolver. but it wasn't. story was slow.there was a lack of gun fights or even fist fights!!!! Gerard Butler from 300 was a main character and he didn't even fight anybody!!!! I only bought this because I'm a Guy Ritchie fan, revolver, snatch, lock, stock, and two smokin barrels, Sherlock Holmes. but this really was a disappointment. $15 isnt bad for a blu ray version of this movie. but i would not recommend this to any non fans or Fans of his movies. just rent it.

      Perfectly Fun

you will not going to be the expert about how mafia or underground life sytle works in Europe, especially in London by watching this movie...but you will enjoy the whole story with lots of sense of humor which professionally embroidered not only by cutting the story line but also any distractions to viewers' attention...if u like movies such as "The Italian Job" or "The Bank Job" you will love this movie, after i watched it; for me, the whole project deserves 5 stars

      Great Action packed film

I love this movie, it's one of those modern gangster flicks I watch over and over again and again. In fact the only reason I became aware of it in the first place was a friend had left it over at my apartment by mistake. When he came back to claim it I immediately went looking for my own copy. Great movie, Great price. I won't talk about the plot because I don't want to spoil it. There's plenty of action and very clever dialogue.

      Lurv this movie.

I have always have loved Guy Ritchies style of film making and Rocknrolla, is one of Ritchies finest peices of work. I especially like how coheasive all the characters individual story lines evolve and connect. For me, this movie is all about Gerald Buttler, Tom Hady and Thandie Newton: some of my favorite actors. They all give excelent preformances and truly own their characters as actors... well Thandie and Tom for sure.

The movie like most Ritchie movie is just so wise cracking and at times full of that same twisted humor. The acting was great and the idea and plot executed very well. My only issue not with the movie but when I ordered it indicated a digital copy would be included both in the wording and the packaging picture. The packaging was completely different and no digital copy was included as none was indicated on the package sent me.
