Best Smartphone I Have Ever Owned

I was due for an upgrade last fall but decided to hold off as I wanted to wait for the new HTC One M9. My previous 2 smartphones had been HTC devices and I liked them a lot. As the M9 launch got closer, I also started reading reviews of the S6 and was intrigued. After reading every review I could find on both devices, I ended up pre-ordering the S6.
I have had the S6 for a week now and it has been great. The display is amazing. It is lightening fast. And it is thin and light and feels good in the hand. I really only have two quibbles with the S6 thus far. The battery life could be better. I do use my phone all day long and generally have wifi and bluetooth turned on all the time. I am also in the habit of plugging in whenever convenient. When I am at my desk, it sits on the wireless charging pad (works great) and I routinely plug in while in the car. The other is the Touchwiz UI. To me the colors and icons all feel a bit cartoonish. Its like Samsung went to all this trouble to design a sleek and stylish device on the outside and then gave it a UI that looks like it belongs on a toy. Don't get me wrong, the software works just fine. Its just the look of it that bugs me. I am also coming from an HTC device and I think the their Sense overlay is much cleaner. If you are coming from an older Samsung device, you will probably find the newest Touchwiz to be a refreshing update.
I've had no problems with the device. sound quality and call quality are very good. The fingerprint reader works flawlessly. Much has been made of the decision to omit the removable battery and SD card. I didn't have/didn't use these are previous devices, so I don't miss them on my S6. I did opt for the 64G variant. I considered the Edge, but figured it was more practical to spend the extra $100 on storage. I'm a function over form kind of guy anyway.

I want to start with the bad because it's the only con I have about the phone. The biggest difference between this version and the older Galaxy S phones is the lack of a removable battery and additional SD card slot. Other than that it is an upgrade worth getting coming from any of the previous GS phones. I had the GS 4 and 5 before this one. And the 4 to the 5 was hardly an upgrade. The GS 6 has a MUCH better camera (front and back) and a better screen (higher resolution and prettier). The Samsung Pay feature is awesome and secure using the new fingerprint technology (much better than the GS 5 fingerprint tech). Beware however, the phone is a little slippery with the Gorilla glass on both sides. It's a beautiful phone and sleek as can be. It gives the iPhone a run for it's money (in appearance) Samsung has been looking for. Still better than the competition IMHO. Well done!

Likes:
Camera - great picture quality, fast shutter speed
Screen - bright, vivid colors. Gorilla screen gives me a piece of mind. (Have a toddler)
Themes - Allows to change the look of it without having to root it
Dislikes:
Battery - not being able to change the battery or take it out
Extra storage - took away the ability to add an SD card, which meant I had to fork out an extra $100 for the 64GB.

I upgraded from an Galaxy S3 a few weeks ago and wow!!!! This phone rocks! The camera is amazing and takes the best pictures ever! And the speed of the phone awesome as well. And the wireless charging, and this big screen, and the 64 gigs of space built in, and the battery life (usually gets down to 65% by bed time) and so on and so on... BUY THIS PHONE, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!! If you don't need 64 gigs like me, be sure to use Google Photos or some other Cloud service to store your photos and videos... Microsoft One Drive gives you 100 gigs of FREE cloud storage with this phone and Sprint :-)

if I could have given it 5+ starts I would have. The camera on this phone is excellent. The internet moves quickly and downloads are swift. Samsung out did themselves this time and I can't imagine what the future holds for their products. The only downfall is the battery life and not being able to expand the memory, but if you're a former iPhone user then this will not bother anyone at all. Call quality is also outstanding.

Look I wouldn't have taken the time to write this review but this phone has blown my mind. I have had everything from apple, blackberry's, and tons of androids. I will have to say I had every line of the Galaxy line and this S6 blows them out of the water. I thought the SD card not being allowed in this model was going to hinder my use of this phone which I always made sure anyone I get had it and this was something I was really worried about. I have had my phone since it was released and I haven't had a need for it once. I just plug the phone into the computer and use it as the sd card rather then using the sd card also it helps that I bought the 64 gig model which I would recommend or the 128 which I haven't needed that much space. Oh the camera let me tell you about that...its the best Camera I have ever used hands down. This was a step up from all the older models and yes it blows away the Iphone. Get this phone or don't know what it feels like to handle speed and pure beauty. I really thought I was just buying into hype getting this phone until I felt it and used it. I will love this phone for a very long time well at least for 2 years ..lol oh and hey check out http://www.thatstheish.com for more info on tech stuff its my site

I love my Samsung Galaxy S6! It was easy to set up and transfer everything from my Galaxy 4. The camera takes beautiful photos and I like the upgrades on the editing. It's very thin and light but since I added an external battery case it's kind of bulky now but I love both the phone and case.

Great Phone but Questionable Battery Drain.

I love this phone (first upgrade in 5 years so that shouldn't be a shocker). I'd have given it 5 stars; however, the battery drain is questionable. I turn off most apps & wifi but the battery, just sitting there, can drain at 5-10% in an hour. Don't know if that's what it's supposed to do, but it seems like I should get better than that. By the end of the day, the battery estimates about 17-18hrs total time between charges, which is ok. But when you hit 50% by midafternoon, it's a bit panic inducing. I'm hoping there's some sort of OS update that limits drain.
And this is just my preference, but non-phabletphones are getting too big. The S6 is just on the cusp of being too large (both in the hand & the pocket). If iPhones remain sub 5" screens, I may switch just for that alone.
A:Yes, just tell them you want to keep your existing plan. I am grandfathered into an older plan and have changed phones twice thru Best Buy without losing my plan.
