Q: People say this external drive should save files for years. My question is 10 years or 20 years?

A: With digital media the only real protection you have is by making multiple copies. I have pulled old hard drives out of filing cabinets that are 10-15 years old, put them into machines and found MOST of the data to be perfect. However, I've also found corrupt files on hard drives that have only been there for about five years.
