I found this item to be very easy to mount, with clear instructions included. It is rock-solid sturdy and surprisingly roomy. I've got a Uverse DVR, Wireless Transmitter Modem, AppleTV, Phone and VOIP box on it. While the cable management chanel at the back of the unit seems like a good idea, it is not even close to being wide or deep enough to handle all the wiring. However, all wires can be neatly bound and mostly hidden behind the equipment. My tips: replace long cables with shortest possible versions where eve possible and use self-drilling 75 lb. drywall anchors if not hitting a stud when mounting.

This was the perfect shelf for my Epson 2045. Unfortunately I had to switch to an Epson 3000 (14.9 lbs) and it just barely fit and I was worried because it looked like it was bending under the weight. Sanus told me not to worry so it could've been fine but I ended up changing the shelf to something that supported 30 lbs and I feel much more comfortable. That said, it was good for my Epson 2045. No height adjustment, but the tray itself could be gently rotated in case you had a slight tilt in your installation. Was handy but at the same time was always fussing with it and kids could mess it up.

Good idea, depending on mounting location

In my case, the Sanus shelf was mounted beneath the TV , about 4 1/2 inches above the fire place mantle. We put a couple of re-enforcing 2x4's between the shelf and the fire place mantle to keep the shelf level after the set box was placed on the shelf. The TV set boxes are a little bit too heavy and, unless there is re-enforcement of some kind, it is difficult to tell if the shelf will lose its anchoring , Depending on the mounting site, I would recommend this shelf, because it does save space. The shelf does stick out from the mounting wall a bit, but that is because of the size of the set boxes.

I needed a shelf to support a couple of lightweight components in a certain location and this shelf filled the bill without taking up floor space like a regular component rack. It is a contemporary, clean looking way to go if that is what you are after, but I would be concerned about using it in a high traffic area and have some concerns about kids hanging on it and tearing it off the wall. I may replace it and use it in another more private area as a result, but to get me where I needed to go with this home theater install it was a good choice, at least for temporary use.

I liked this unit for our purposes. Since we were mounting into a ceramic block wall, we did not use any of the supplied anchors, but used units we already had that were compatible with the wall. When installed it looked good and worked well for our needs. Our lab tech bought a two-shelf model and had trouble with the "butterfly" anchors supplied not fitting any of the screws supplied. Had to go to the hardware store to finish installation. The cable management area would not allow running her cables (too small). When finished she agreed the unit looked nice, and worked well.

The reason I bought this wall shelf is because I wanted to hide the four outlet and cable wires that hang down from the TV. The trouble is, the plastic casing that conceals the wires is too short. As a result it only hides 70% of the wires. If it had been only 8 inches longer I would have given it five stars. Additionally, it is a little pricey.

As with most Sanus products, the wall mount instructions were very clear and easy to follow. All necesary hardware was included and clearly marked. The only issue I had was that only one of the two screws, used to hold the shelf to the bracket, would line up. The other was slightly off. I ended up only using one screw, which I think is fine - it is secure. Just a minor glitch in the install.

I wanted to free up space in front of the wall where the tv would be. I looked on the internet and at business locations at this shelf and thought it might be too large and I would hit it as I walk by. I am very pleased with the look of the shelf with the dvd/soundbar under the 65" I purchased together. I do not hit it and it opens the room up and appears larger which is the reason I wanted a wall shelf. I am very pleased with the look.
