Vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered 30th Anniversary Edition of the rock legend's debut solo album. Features the singles InchTake It So HardInch, InchStruggleInch, and InchYou Don't Move MeInch. Recorded and released during a long-standing falling out with Mick Jagger, Talk Is Cheap received positive reviews upon it's . Richards teamed up with Steve Jordan, who had worked on Dirty Work, and the pair wrote several new songs. Recording began in August 1987 at Le Studioin Morin Heights, Quebec, and continued sporadically until the following May with visits to Montserrat and Bermuda. In order to assert his independence further, Richards signed with Virgin Records, while the Rolling Stones were under contract to Sony Music. The core of the band, called the X-Pensive Winos, consisted of Waddy Wachtel, Ivan Neville, Charley Drayton and Steve Jordan, with many guest artists taking part in the recording, including Sarah Dash, Bootsy Collins, Maceo Parker, the Memphis Horns and Patti Scialfa, and the only musician from the Stones to appear, guitarist Mick Taylor. He has released a handful of singles and at least one album on labels in the US and Europe as a one-man-band and with his former group, the Rat Traps. He has been at it for nearly five years and he's barely in his twenties. Cheap Time is his newest and most serious endeavor to date in 2008. Founded with Jemina Pearl and Nathan Vasquez of Be Your Own Pet, Cheap Time set out to recapture the essence of teenage schlock rock scuzz of such heroes as Redd Kross and the Runaways. Vinyl LP repressing. Cheap Trick is the first studio album released in 1977 by the American rock band Cheap Trick. Most of the songs have a more raw sound akin to hard rock bands of the period compared to the group's later more polished power pop style, and the song lyrics deal with more extreme subject matter than later albums. For instance, "The Ballad of T.V. Violence" is about serial killer Richard Speck, "Daddy Should Have Stayed in High School" is about a pedophile, and "Oh Candy" is about a photographer friend of the band, Marshall Mintz (a.k.a. "m&m") who committed suicide. This album, along with the following three albums, are considered by fans and critics to be Cheap Trick's best works. This one, however, is more known for capturing both their dark side and the fierceness of their early live performances more than any other studio in their catalog. The album was produced by Jack Douglas, who had achieved a similar sonic density with the blues-rock/hard rock band Aerosmith, and the album sounds quite different than subsequent Cheap Trick records. Jack Douglas later worked with the band on the Found All the Parts EP, on the album Standing On The Edge, as well as on a re-recorded version of "Surrender" in the late 1990s and on a few tracks on Rockford.
