Love it...Love it!...This lens is awesome for closeup, I m beginners so I need little time like 20-30 sec to focus lens correctly to take photo, if you are planning out door trip like going NY or DC to day trip this lens might not be good fit as this is good fit for closeup and portrait....best 50mm for the buck, crazy sharp, 1.8 is good for low light and to use for a shallow DoF and in my oppinion is the best lens to start with for a DX body, so you learn how to possition your self.

Love it...So nice....Much better than my 18-140mm Kit Lens from Nikon, even though I love my 18-140mm lens, this is way better in Bokeh, and a lot clearer in detail for the same type photo as I compared them myself today when I bought it to make sure, I never bought a Prime Lens before but now I am a believer in them......But I keep this lens on my camera at all times indoors so I can finally catch those shots of the kids running around being adorable or doing something goofy and not have to worry about flash or overexposed pictures or out of focus pictures because the kit lens wasn't able to keep up or wasn't open wide enough to take a good shot.

nice !...Not bad...But over all I like this lens for a starter lens, but would recommend the combination lens over this one, if you have a choice and the money,but as I said this one came with the bundle....I like this lens as a general usage, because it can be used for somewhat up-close shots, along with the 250mm zoom, so I don't have to keep switching out lenses at my daughter's ball games so often.

NOT BAD...love it...This is a good zoom for beggining.Good image quality in outdoors.Best if used with a tripod or monopod.There is no image stablizer so the futher you zoom the steadier the camera has to be.On the plus side with it being an EF lens you can buy an inexpensive teleconverter and double your zoom.All in all a good lens for being part of a package....I have gone to a few events(airshows, sporting events) and this was the main lens I used, I found that the image quality was decent, but when I zoomed into the picture on my computer, the edges of the subject were colored blue, purple, green, or yellow 80% of the time.

Not Bad...It's ok...I like my 3-lens kit, especially the wide-angle and fisheye (I didn't use the macro lens yet)! Love it...I loved...They do carry the Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens in-store but for quality, I do recommend this lens in particular because it is a f/1.4, which lets in a lot more light and there is a difference between the f/1.8 and f/1.4 quality....I can't use this lens as often wide open as I would like to due to color fringing and other issues associated with wide open shooting, however it is just as good the 1.2L or the 1.8 when stopped down beyond 1.8.
