A: These speakers are not powered. They need to be wired into a receiver in order to work. You have to purchase the wire separately. I use 16 gauge wire to install mine purchased from Best Buy. Please pay attention to the wires + positive and - negative when plugging in your speakers.
Q: How would I connect thes3 speakers to my hp laptop?
A: You by an adapter. Some people don't know speaker wire can be connected with different types of connections and you can buy different adapters. You even buy wire in a roll and DIY your own connecters. I take it you want either 3.5mm plug to bare wire or banana plugs, or Red & White RCA connectors you don't specify what your computer connection is. At the speaker you need either one. There is multiple options in speaker wire for every type of connection.

Surround sound
These speakers are incredible for the price. The sound quality is very good. We have a Sony receiver and two subs with four of these speakers and a center speaker. When watching movies with action. Man these really put out what I want and ask of them. I tried blowing them out and they wouldn’t go. I suggest these to anyone. For those who don’t want to spend but have a $100 bucks sitting around. Go to our Best Buy and get these.

Amazing for my Christmas Decorations
I have a huge Christmas decoration setup out front but I don’t have any music. So I bought these and 100 foot of speaker cable and when I went to hook it up to my 7.1 Sony I realized lol I needed 200 feet of cable. I had bought 100 foot of outdoor 16 gauge. So I hooked up a single speaker, put the bracket on a tree. Put the speaker on. I ran the cable. I then use my iPhone over blue tooth to play children’s Christmas songs over the single speaker. It sounds amazing. I have it plugged into o Lu the right front speaker output of my Sony. Completely worth the 25 I paid. I would happily buy more and put them around my yard. Also has held up against massive rain 2 times in Florida and massive winds. In the second photo with the close up of the snowmen the speaker is attached to the tree behind. And the speaker wire is out door direct bury and it’s run under a cord protector in the driveway and then just sitting on the ground otherwise 5 star from me
