Great pancake lens for Sony Alpha 5/6 series.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good pancake lens for Sony ASP-C. Small and compact on a Sony alpha 5 series camera body. Could fit in your pocket with lens on. Decently wide aperture for slight bokeh effect on portraits. Decent in low light. Wide angle shots. Good for street, landscape, real estate and venue photography.

Great wide angle camera lense
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this lens. I wanted a lens that took wide angles and this lens did that for me. I was able to take great photos of sunsets when I was on vacation in Nevada. I really like this lens.

Decent Wide Angle Lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this lens to take landscape photos on my Sony A6000. The lens does indeed take wide shots and I would say it's pretty crisp. I'm not an expert on photography so I can give a simpleton review. However I would definitely not use this for simple street photography because the lens will make objects seem small. Unless you're trying to achieve that look then go ahead. Though I feel as if the Ultra Wide Angle Converter is almost necessary to obtain an even cleaner, sharper photo look. Also if you want to take selfies, this is the lens for you! Using this lens on the A6000 does make the camera look like a point and shoot therefore giving a compact look! The quality is pretty good and I expect it to last until I will get my next camera.

Good little lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this little lens for doing quick out and about shots. Remember that the focal equivalent on a 35mm puts this in the low 20s, so if your looking for a super wide angle either look elsewhere or pick up the high-def adapter that Sony makes for this lens. For quick and dirty wide angles, this works well in panoramic mode on my NEX-6. It doesn't feel as solid is some of Sony's other prime E-Mount lenses, but it doesn't feel as cheap as the Sigma lenses that are also popular for the NEX series. Significantly faster than the kit lenses too. All in all a great, relatively low priced lens that's always in my camera bag.

Great Lens for a great camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't say enough about my Sony A6000. I love it and would recommend it to anybody. I bought this lens because I like to shoot more on the wide angle side, but needed something faster than the kit lens. I wanted wide angle without having to spend almost $800 for the wider angle zoom lens. I bought this lens to go along with the Ultra Wide Converter (VCL-ECU2), which gives make the lens the equivalent of about 15mm. For me, this was perfect. It's a fixed, and while I would like a zoom lens, this pushes me to be more creative and move around to get the photo I want. I really have no complaints and think the quality and price is great.

Q: QuestionThis might be a silly one. Recently got a 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 lens for my a6000. Wouln't mine do the same what this wide lens does? I need a good lense for a lanscape pictures for my upcoming trip. Thanks
Asked by orintajp.
- A:Answer No such thing as silly if you’re learning! Your lens is a zoom, so if you would like to get close to a sunset or tree in the distance, it would be perfect. This lens is lower in mm (16 vs 55) so the lens is going to be more curved. You’ll be able to get a wider shot, but no zoom.
