Nice walkabout lens for Canon Rebel series
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Nice inexpensive general purpose lens. I bought this to go on my old Rebel T5 for the wife to shoot with when we go out hiking. She is just learning, but still taking nice shots with this lens. Build quality is good. Nothing that feels loose, rings move smoothly, but with enough resistance. Autofocus work pretty well, given the body it's on. Pictures are maybe a bit sharper than I was expecting for the price. It is a good value lens, and I would recommend to anyone looking for an AIO zoom lens that won't break the budget. I also own a Tamron 18-300 for Sony E mount that is more than double the price of this, but doesn't necessarily double the picture quality. For the pictures, the clouds were shot @27mm f5.6, the squirrel at 200mm f14, Flower closeup at 140mm f8, and same flower, wide at 18mm f3.5. Pretty versatile, and can do some relatively macro type shots too.

This lens is amazing on a Canon T3i!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. So, I recently upgraded to an EOS 6D Mark II, and was in a hurry to get an all purpose single lens for it (I have a variety of prime EF lenses). I found this one with 18-200mm, and “image stabilization,” and thought what a bargain. I ordered it, seeing it had a red mark on it, and the Best Buy description states it is for EF lens mount cameras. Well, guess what, this lens is intended for use with a crop sensor body, not full frame. For giggles, I attached it to my T3i, and I have to say I’m impressed! So far it is taking tack sharp pictures, although I haven’t pushed it too hard yet, and having 18-200mm (x1.5 due to the drop sensor,) is super nice. I’ve been using the T3i with this lens in my back yard and it’s been a lot of fun. I’m ordering a Sigma 28-300mm for me D6 Mark II, and I’m going to keep this 18-200mm Tamron for my T3i and Rebel XT, For my kids to use.

My go-to lens!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. What can I say about this lens? This is my go-to lens. If I want something close to wide angle I shoot on 18mm, and if I want to try portrait photography I shoot on 50mm, and if I really need a shot of something far away I take it all the way to 200mm. This is definitely always in my camera bag.

Not for beginners
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed.I almost returned this due to not understanding how to use it. Make sure you know a little bit about lighting and stability before buying or opt for a higher quality one. Once I understood how to use it, it was an awesome zoom lens for the Zoo. Pros: Nice Zoom Very Light Great with Burst Mode Cons: Took some getting used to Not great in contrast or low light

Good
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I am not a professional photographer. I want to buy the original Cannon brand zoom lens for my Cannon Rebel SL1 But they are out of stock. So the Bestbuy sales recommended me to get this one. It was on sale with better price that fits my budget. I think the quality is good. I use it to take picture for my son's graduation since I sat far away from the stage. The pictures came out good with this zoom len.

Sharp and Quick
||Posted .Usually buy Cannon lenses, but with as little as I actually shoot now-a-days I couldn't beat the price and it did great for me. Very happy with the images and didn't have to switch lenses the whole shoot!

Q: QuestionHas anyone used this lens with the Canon EOS M Mount Adapter? This is the adapter that allows dslr lenses to be used on Canon's mirrorless cameras. Thanks, Scott
Asked by Scott.
- A:Answer yes it works fine.. but the auto focus is very slow.. but if your subject is in a bright or lighted place its fine.. you can use this lens in manual mode to make your subject clear...
