Q: Does this have to be hard wired or do you have the option of a plug-in cord?
A: It has to be hard wired, but the process is very simple and instructions are included.
Q: Can this product be wall mounted?
A: yes
Q: does the charcoal filter come with the range hood?
A: Filter does come with hood.
A: Yes you need to turn off the power/breaker to install this hood. We had an electrician install it for us.
Q: What power cord kit works with this model?
A: It’s not really a kit. You can take any 120v 12 or 14awg cord and use it. Snip an extension cord and wire but it in or you can buy one from Home Depot or Lowe’s reasy to be wire nutted in place. Just remember which ever hole the cord comes out of, should be protected somehow so that the cord does not change against bare metal. You can find a breaker box holder with a nut on it that will fit in the hole and clamp and hold the wire securely in place.
A: This range hood is a non-vented/duct free unit. The hood filters the air coming in and recirculates it back out. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Whirlpool appliances!

Looks great, but not a one person job
Once this was installed, I was completely happy with it. It looks great, is quiet, provides good light, and does the job for a great price. However, this product does seem to hint that you could put this up on your own, but this is definitely not the case (the only reason I gave 4 stars). The little clips on the back that you are supposed to hang it up on are pretty flimsy. But if you can just get a buddy to help, it's not difficult.

Looks and works good...
It seems to work good so far and is quiet...I am reasonably satisfied with it...But it does show finger prints!
