A in-depth Story and Character Development!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I never had the chance to play this on the Wii. I am glad it was ported over to the switch for multiple reasons, but the primary being that it is now a portable game. Xenoblade Chronicles offers a moderately in depth aspect to a really easy to play storyline with a different feel. It has some great Character development and you can get lost in the sidequests for hours. Which leads to the only thing I do not like, that is the huge maps that you have to spend hours running across to complete the sidequests early on. But if you are looking for a time wasting post apocalyptic world to live in, Get this game! ESRB rating is Teen.

One of the best games ever now even better
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I played this game for the first time on Wii about six years ago and it instantly became one of my all time favorites. The setting, story, world design, characters, music, art direction, and combat system all came together to make it one of those games that you will always remember. The only really negative things I can say about a now 10 yr. old Wii game are the SD graphics look bad in some places, especially the character models, and the very basic quest log can make some sidequests a pain. If the graphics and quest structure were the only things to get major overhauls for this Definitive Edition release I would have been satisfied with that. I considered the game near perfect as it was. They aren't though. Extra epilogue content was added, loading times are way faster, menus are cleaner, the user interface is improved. They even took what was one of my favorite video game soundtracks ever and remastered it with mostly amazing results. Put simply, they took an already classic game and made it better. Buy it. If you enjoy games beyond the casual Mario Kart with friends but you've never played it, it deserves your attention. Even if you have played it I consider the upgrade big enough to rediscover why this game is rightfully held up as a cult classic.

It's IN THE TITLE...
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. It's in the TITLE. This is the DEFINITIVE edition, and best way to experience this story. Includes an epilogue chapter that you can skip straight to if you've beaten it before. Nice touch.

Q: QuestionAre you really feeling it??
Asked by SmooshBro.
- A:Answer Very Yes! I missed the Wii release but this was by far my favorite 3DS game and one of my favorite JRPGs period. Great gameplay, voice acting, unique and interesting visuals, and one heck of a story. I really appreciate the story ties in the sequel as well.

Q: QuestionI've never played this series but I'm thinking getting it. What is the gameplay like? It kind of reminds me of BotW from the screenshots.
Asked by Mudboggin3.
- A:Answer It is both very similar but also very different from BotW. The battle system has more to it than just spamming the attack button. While the character you play as is attacking by themself, you choose the arts that are used. Along with that, this game does have the similar feature of "If you see it you can go there." You will be surprised what places you will be lead to. While most locations are surrounded by natural 'walls' that you can't climb, and the path is very linear there are several areas especially at the beginning of the game where the game opens up in a large space. Along with this even in many linear sections, there is a good amount to explore in them doing quests, finding secret areas, and collecting items. Finally, where the story of BotW just gave you a goal to work towards, the story of this game is very linear and it's not like how you can skip the story and beat Ganon with some twigs, wearing tattered clothes if you wanted to. You have to be invested in the story to see it to the end which, for the most part, it does very well with creating an interesting motive to continue onwards. TLDR: While it may look like BotW and holds many of the ideas in it's gameplay, it is a linear story made with different goals. Also the reason Xenoblade looks a lot like BotW is because Monolithsoft (the makers of Xenoblade) helped with making BotW
