Great Reboot of a Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island on the Super Nintendo. This game feels like a direct sequel. It requires a settings change to get the controls to match the original, but otherwise it feels the same to play it. The graphics are great - the hand-drawn feel is much stronger given the higher resolution of the 3DS. The 3D effect is subtle, but nice. The music is the worst part of this game. Annoying is the first word that came to mind. Not very similar to the original and not even good on its own. It's strange, since they even re-used a lot of the sound effects of the original. My least favorite part of the original Super Nintendo game was the timed "transformation" parts - where Yoshi transforms into some other object and you need to reach the end of the puzzle before time runs out. It really goes against the general feel of Yoshi's Island, where nothing is timed. Unfortunately, this carried over to the new game as well.

It's a fun game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is fun but a little too easy. The music is alright. The story line is whatever. Games like this aren't about it's story. It is more about game play and that's fun. If you never played the series, this would be the way to go. If you already played the series, be open minded about this game. [You'll see what I mean if/when you play.]

It's fun and simple. That's about it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's not really much to say about this game. The game play is fun, yeah. The art work is different and interesting. But not great. The music... eh... I could do without. My only real problem with it is that the only actual challenge comes from trying to find all of the collectibles. The game plays simple and it is enjoyable. But there's no real challenge. Other than that I enjoyed it

Eggcellent game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really fun, quirky game only nintendo could come up with. You of course play as yoshi trying to save baby luigi from baddies. You can shoot eggs at the baddies or jump on them. It has really great graphics, smooth gameplay.. All around a ton of fun.. Just don't get hit... Unless you want to hear baby Mario cry.... waaaa waaaa waaaaa

Great Yoshi's island game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this game. The only 2 downsides I can think of are the music is not as good as the original Yoshi's island and using the nub on the 3ds made it harder for me. I had to use the directional pad to be any good at this game.

Great addition to the Yoshi story
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, Yoshi's New Island is a great addition to the Yoshi series of videogames, although it would have been better if it was more like the original SNES classic. The 3D is, overall, not jarring and easy on the eyes, while the background's are greatly detailed and varied.
