Q: How is the voice sound control and communication for a hard hearing person
A: I'm very sorry, but we are not certain what you mean by "voice sound control". The Core 100 soundbar lacks a center channel speaker. If hearing voices in films is a concern, you may wish to consider the Core 200 soundbar instead -- which has a dedicated center channel for dialog (of which, the volume can be increased independently to increase voice presence in films). The Bose TV Speaker is a small soundbar that clarifies speech and improves overall TV sound. Inside there are two full-range drivers angled to deliver wide, spatial sound, while the center tweeter specifically focuses on clarifying speech. And built-in Dolby decoding enhances the audio capabilities of your TV Speaker to deliver a more realistic and satisfying listening experience. Designed with simplicity in mind, a single connection to your TV has you up and running in no time. This connection can be either an optical audio cable (included) or an HDMI cable (sold separately). At just over 2″ (5 cm) tall, this TV Speaker is small enough to fit just about anywhere. Place it in front of your TV or mount it to the wall. Plus small LED lights on the front turn on and/or change color when certain features are enabled or when the volume is adjusted. The Bose TV Speaker also has HDMI-CEC, which allows the TV and soundbar to communicate when connected by an HDMI cable. So when you turn the TV on, the soundbar will automatically turn on too, and you can even continue using your current TV remote to control the volume of the soundbar. However, the Bose TV Speaker also has its own remote. On it, you can pair your Bluetooth device to wirelessly stream your favorite music or podcasts, enable Dialogue Mode to further elevate center vocals, or add a bass boost for some extra depth. And the Bose TV Speaker is Roku TV Ready certified. Meaning, it’s designed to work seamlessly with a Roku TV. When connected to a Roku TV via an HDMI cable, you’ll enjoy smooth, automatic setup, easy access to the TV Speaker sound settings in the Roku TV on-screen menu, and compatibility with the Roku TV remote. If you’re looking for even more bass or just want to expand your system, you can add a subwoofer for more theater-quality home theater sound. The Bose TV Speaker requires a wired connection and is compatible with the Bose Bass Module 500 or 700 (Bose Bass Module Connection Cable sold separately).

Enjoy rich surround sound with clear dialogue with the HT-S400 2.1ch Soundbar. A wireless subwoofer, 330W of total output, and HDMI ARC one-cable connection make watching movies and TV more immersive.

Coming grom a Bose soundbar, which was already excellent, this soundbar is MUCH punchier with its bass. I didnt want to have to add a subwoofer to get a bit of punch and this does the job. I did however try it with a sub I had laying around and it worked great! Compared to the soundbar itself though, the sub only just improved on its already great and punchy sound. You definitely wont need a sub unless you're wanting to rattle walls. Highly reccomended and worth the price.

I purchased this soundbar for my room. I was a little skeptical about it being a 2.1 channel soundbar without an included subwoofer but I decided to give it a shot and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Setup was extremely easy. A single power cord and an HDMI cable was all that was needed for my setup. The bass on this soundbar is immaculate. Also has 2 top firing speakers for Dolby Atmos. I genuinely think this is the only soundbar I would recommend for 48" TVs and below. It is not too far off from the Bose Smart Soundbar. Heck, you could even put this under a 32" monitor! Only con I have with it is that it does not have airplay or Wi-Fi capabilities. However, most people will not be using those features anyways.

Setting a soundbar in a small 9x12 bedroom. Got an open box model for $166, all hardware was in the box. Plus used my $5 coupon. I tested the movie Taken today and it sounded great even without a sub. I’m suprised how good the bass is without a sub. The dialog modes really help the voices come forward. The bass settings are all easily adjustable and noticeable. The night mode is very good in that your neighboring rooms won’t be disturbed. Remote is easy to use. There’s an app also which i haven’t tested but i have downloaded. At this price point this is hard to beat. Downside is that it wont fit under my TV and will need a TV wall mount to raise the tv a but and remove the OEM stands. I plan to run a sub in the near future and the surrounds. I’m running a Sony Bravia 3 TV btw. Great picture! And now fantastic sound!
