They provide high power output and handling, wide frequency response, and powerful bass. The R-Series line includes component and coaxial speakers, subwoofers and for the first time, amplifiers.

  • R-Series technology: The R2-S65 is the new 2-Way model of the new 3rd generation R-Series speaker line-up. It features a 6.5" door woofer and a 1.7" tweeter with up to 40kHz frequency response.
  • Hi-res audio certified hard dome tweeter: The all-new magnesium hard-dome tweeters deliver clear, detailed music reproduction and play up to 40kHz (Hi-Res Audio). You have the option to flush-mount them in their threaded housing or use the included on-dash mounts.
  • Composite basket and large magnets: The standard models feature composite baskets (in comparison to the Aluminum die-cast baskets of the PRO models) – which makes them more affordable. They fit larger magnets than in previous generations (while maintaining the same mounting depth).
  • Glass-fiber reinforced cone: The door woofer and the mid-range speaker feature all-new glass-fiber reinforced cones. This material is very stiff and extremely light-weight, resulting in a super-fast response and highly accurate music reproduction.
  • Easy-fit tweeter in OEM locations: You can simply remove the installation frame and the trim ring of the R-Series tweeter to minimize its overall size and diameter. The tweeter itself is then small enough to fit it in many OEM tweeter locations for a stealthy installation.
  • High-pass X-over network: This small X-Over networks are very easy to install – in may cases you can keep the original wiring in the vehicle’s doors by simply putting this network in, saving lots of time during installation. You can adjust the tweeter level by -3dB / 0dB / +3dB.
  • HAMR surround: Alpine’s HAMR Surround (High-Amplitude Multi-Roll) allows for a maximum cone excursion, while maintaining excellent control. This results in strong bass at high volumes without distortion.
  • New speaker grills: The new speakers grills in hexagon design look very aggressive and do not increase the overall speaker installation diameter.

The higher power output also means that the amp will have better control over the R2’s (I’m running this setup in my own car)

    Alpine Upgrade from Jeep Wrangler Stock Speakers

    These speakers were installed as replacements for the stock Jeep Wrangler speakers in my Daughters vehicle. I knew Alpine speakers were great but was absolutely amazed at how significant of a difference these specific speakers made! They hit highs and lows the stock Jeep system could not even come close to achieving. The sound on her factory system came alive. What was even better is that the speakers come with the adapters necessary to install the speakers in the roof mount system. It took approximately 30 minutes per speaker to install. The only thing I would recommend if you are installing in any vehicle is to make sure you have the connector adapter for the plugs. Great sounding speakers that improved the sound quality of the stereo and easy installation! Two thumbs up to Alpine and Best Buy for a great product!

    Amazing speakers

    [Employee of bestbuy] Perfect fit for the Jaguar XKR! The car originally came with Alpine speakers, so I wanted to stick with the same brand for the upgrade, and these were a perfect match. Pros: Sound quality. Design. Build quality. Ease of installation. Packeting. Cons: None.

    Loud and clear

    [Employee of bestbuy] I recently installed the 6.5-inch Alpine speakers in my truck, and they’re phenomenal! Crystal-clear highs, rich mids, and surprisingly deep bass for their size. Easy to install, durable build, and they pair perfectly with my amp. Best audio upgrade I’ve made—worth every penny! Five stars, hands down!
