Echo Link is an Echo companion that connects your home hi-fi stereo system to streaming music services. Echo Link is designed to connect to a receiver or amplifier or directly to powered speakers. It includes 5 lines out (analog, optical, coax, headphone 3.5mm, subwoofer) and 3 lines in (analog, optical, coax) to connect other audio components. Echo Link includes a volume knob for granular control, an ethernet port for reliable connectivity, and offers full Echo multi-room music support.
Q: Can you control the volume remotely with the Alexa app or Amazon echo?
A: Hello, Yes, you can either through telling Alexa to do the command, or through the Alexa App. Hope this helps. Have a great day.
Q: Can I directly connect Echo Dot, Echo Link to passive speakers?
A: No it has to go through an amplifier
A: That is exactly what I do. No luck yet in getting surround sound with my other echo devices yet though.
A: So I used it for this reason. I was able to connect it to the amplifier and use a dot to stream music
Q: how many Watts per channel?
A: 0 Watts per channel. This is NOT an amplified device! You can buy a 60 Watt / channel amp built in for $100 more. This is made to use an existing amplifier.
A: Hey Joe The Alexa app is what connects your device to the Echo devices, and currently IOS 11+ is needed to run the app. If your device is compatible then you should be able to stream your audio using your Echo Link and creating music to stream to. I hope this helps
A: Hello, BobL! The Echo Link works to control a speaker, amplifier, receiver, or sub woofer with either your Alexa app or your voice through another Echo device (like an Echo Dot). The device will not link the sound to come out of your Echo Studio. I hope that helps to answer your question!
