Q: Does this come with a Sim card? Is one required to activate wifi?
A: The cellular model has an e-SIM. None of the models use a physical SIM. Apple has phased out physical SIMS on all its iPhones and now on the iPad mini 7. All models are WiFi capable out of the box. No SIM (or e-SIM) is ever required for WiFi. You only need a SIM (or e-SIM) if you want to use CELLULAR data. Data over WiFi uses entirely different technology and it is built-in on every iPad, whether cellular capable or not.
A: A: The iPad Mini 7 (2024 release) supports eSIM on cellular models, in addition to a physical nano-SIM. Earlier models like the iPad Mini 4 did not support eSIM; Apple introduced eSIM in iPads around 2018 (with the iPad Pro 3rd gen, iPad Air 3, and iPad mini 5 cellular versions). So, yes — if you’re getting a cellular version of the Mini 7, it has eSIM capability.

I recently purchased the iPad Mini, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! It’s the perfect blend of portability and power. This is the first item I bought online in best buy! Thank you for delivering it safe and sound! I have been eyeing ipad mini ever since, and I was never wrong! I am using it everyday, and it is better when it comes with apple pencil and a paper like screen protector if you love writing your notes! And it is the perfect size for reading ebooks!

Near perfect!
Extremely light weight, excellent size, great screen, and love how the apple pencil can be used. I love this little thing! The only bad thing I wish was better is the battery life, but it’s not bad, iust not perfect
