A: The cellular model has an e-SIM. None of the models use a physical SIM. Apple has phased out physical SIMS on all its iPhones and now on the iPad mini 7. All models are WiFi capable out of the box. No SIM (or e-SIM) is ever required for WiFi. You only need a SIM (or e-SIM) if you want to use CELLULAR data. Data over WiFi uses entirely different technology and it is built-in on every iPad, whether cellular capable or not.
A: You definitely want to upgrade to the newest iPad mini. Not only for its features, but for security purposes. You can upgrade to the most recent iOS version and have peace of mind that your data is safe/secure. As for features, it’s still portable and user friendly. Though there’s no longer a physical home button, there’s a button at the top that has a fingerprint sensor or you can press the button to enter a passcode. You can also purchase an Apple Pencil, which can be used for writing notes or as a stylus (depending on what you’re looking for) Without knowing specific hand issues, it’s still small and has a bigger screen than the mini 4. The screen is brighter and the device is super fast. I hope this helps! If size doesn’t matter, the newest iPad can also serve basic needs. Just not very portable. Good luck!

A: Yes it is a gen 7
Q: Can you transfer my items including vlc of my mini ipad 4 to the new mini ipad 7 for me?
A: A: Yes — you can transfer everything, including apps like VLC, from your old iPad Mini 4 to the iPad Mini 7 using iCloud backup/restore or the Quick Start transfer method (when setting up the new iPad, hold it near your old one). As long as your iPad Mini 4 is signed into your Apple ID, your apps, settings, and data can all be moved over.
