This SMARTCLEAN robotic vacuum features roller-brush action to handle all manner of messes.
Q: Will it pick up long human hair without getting stuck in wrapped up in the brush?
A: It does get stuck but the brushes come apart very easily to be cleaned. It's easy to reassemble as well.
A: I'm not familiar with the Roomba ( first hand knowledge). So I can't tell you much about comparisons between the two. I can tell you that I'm very satisfied with the Bissell robotic vacuum. It works as advertised, and yes it does have a program feature. It's actually performed on the charging module, not the vacuum itself. The charging stand has a clock and calendar with full programming features. You can instruct the unit to vacuum on certain days or everyday and specify what time. The vacuum does a thorough job, and it is well-designed. If you're running on bare floors or marble in my case, it will generally run for about an hour and a half before needing a charge. When the battery gets low, it automatically shuts itself down and finds its way back to the charging module. It's easy to clean and maintain, and the Dual side brushes do a great job pulling the dirt in from underneath counters and against walls. The center brush easily removes for clearing hair and debris. Definitely worth the money. The only Improvement I would recommend is that the unit should be designed to work with a handheld remote for user convenience, but this is a mild criticism. It's a great value and I would recommend a purchase. Hope this helps. Randy
A: It is loud. We set it to run in the evening at around 8 PM. It is as loud as any vacuum cleaner. It will travel well on hardwood floors, but it won't pick up fine dust very well. It is a very inexpensive unit compared to its peers and that's for good reason, it's pretty much all plastic. I have seen some reviews on YouTube and I think that a better choice is something like the iRobot Roomba 960 or 980. Yes, these are much more expensive, but they produce a better vacuum and are much more intelligent. They're all noisy. Our Bissell unit failed mechanically twice, once in warranty and lastly out of warranty. We are giving the Roomba 960 a try. Hope this helps you.

A: Try to turn it off and on again
A: It has sensors to help it navigate and also seems to have a memory after a few uses.
