702 S3 is our 700 Series flagship: a state-of-the-art floorstanding speaker that defines standards for performance in its class. Its Carbon Dome tweeter is housed in a Solid Body Tweeter assembly, derived from 800 Series Diamond. That ensures even more realistic treble, while its decoupled midrange assembly, enhanced here with our revolutionary Biomimetic Suspension, provides outstanding midrange transparency and openness. And thanks to its downward-firing port configuration and its trio of Aerofoil Profile bass cones, 702 S3 can deliver bass that’s both profoundly deep and endlessly articulate. If you want the best in the series, this is it.

703 S3 now features our iconic Tweeter-on-Top configuration, transforming its ability to render detail and space. I have to recant my previous ratings in comparison with the D3 805. Both series are great but the D4 is a big step forward in its lows and improvements in the high frequencies. They are not harsh to me and with all tge improvements made to tge D4 series its a noticeable step forward. For my needs they are great for a small to medium large room. Have them set up with tge proper gear and placement and they will reward you with an amazing listening experience highly recommended 5 stars

I own the 805 D3 and have auditioned the 805 D4. It's not a night and day difference. l'd say it's a 10-13 percent improvement in aspects of the sonic character. If you're coming from the D2 generation or before I'd say there is a 40 60 percent improvement. That would be worth it. Consider the $8500 price and $1250 stands. Almost mandatory because you'll want to bolt these down for such an investment. My opinion if you're coming from a D3 it's not enough to justify the price of the improvement. Id also consider the durability of thw leather as well.

I wouldn’t say they are worlds better than the 805 d3 possibly 10 to 13% better. They are very similar in many ways but also different physically Reaser bigger than the past generation my only problem with the speakers is I feel they don’t justify the $8000 asking price and that’s not even counting the investment of the speakers stands from bowers and Wilkins. I feel that the 805 D3 is a great alternative if you’re looking to be in the 800 series but at a lower price. If you’re going into the 800 series and you want their best bookshelf and current generation this would be it otherwise the 805 d3 is a good viable option
