    • Color: Black
  • Imaging
    • Magnification: 15 times
    • Objective Lens Diameter: 70 millimeters (Generally, the larger the diameter of the objective lens, the greater the light-collecting power and the brighter images will appear.)
    • Field of View at 1000 yards: 230 feet (The area of a target, measured horizontally from the location of viewing, that can be observed.)
    • Field of View at 1000 yards (Maximum Magnification): 231 feet (The area of a target at minimum zoom, measured horizontally from the location of viewing, that can be observed.)
    • Close Focusing Distance: 43 feet (The closest distance the user can be from an object to obtain a clear, focused view through the lens.)
    • Angular Field Of View (Real/degree): 4.4 degrees (Measurement of the angle of the visible field seen through the lens (without magnification). The greater the number, the wider the area that can be viewed.)
    • Angle of View (Maximum Magnification): 4.4 degrees (Measurement of the angle of view that can be seen via the device at its highest magnification.)
  • Features
    • Size: Full Size
    • Prism Type: Porro (Prisms ensure the proper horizontal and vertical orientation of the view. There are two main types: roof and Porro. Roof prisms, typically more expensive than the alternative, have a more streamlined design due to their glass elements being in line with one another. Porro prisms, though they contribute to a larger form factor, typically provide a wider field of view than roof prisms.)
    • Tripod Mountable: Yes
    • Exit Pupil: 4.7 millimeters (The diameter of the beam of light that travels through the lens to the user's eye. Generally, the larger this measurement, the greater the relative brightness and detail of the image.)
    • Lens Coating: Multilayer coated (Chemical coatings on a lens reduce reflective light loss and improve light transmission. The different coating levels indicate the number of anti-reflective layers and the lens surfaces to which they're applied, ranging from coated (the most basic) to fully multi-coated (typical of high-end optics).)
    • Focus System: Center (The most common binocular focusing system is center focus, which features a centered wheel or lever (InstaFocus) between the barrels, and usually additional diopter adjustment. Individual focus binoculars allows each eyepiece to be adjusted independently.)
    • Eye Relief: 18 millimeters (The maximum distance between the eyepiece lens and user's eye at which the full field of view can be seen.)

      Very good Astronomical Binoculars

Celestron is the leader in star gazing technology so its only natural they would develop a high quality reasonable priced line of astronomical binoculars. The 15 x 70 is no exception and works very well in double duty as a spotting device. Low cost sleek style and easy to used adjustments make this binocular a real bargain.

      Excellent binoculars for the price

Very good, high quality binoculars that are perfect for looking at the moon and planets. Much more practical than a telescope and with some help, good for the kids too. I use them a bit for bird watching as well, but naturally they are a bit heavy for longer term use. For the price, you will have a hard time finding anything better than these.

      Great for star gazing

They work very well for looking at night sky. The only problem i had...there clumsy...a little heavy if using for a long time...i purchased a 72 " tripod...special for binoculars...makes a huge difference..more enjoyable.
