Be prepared in case of a dead battery with this Cobra Jumpack jump starter. It can start a vehicle with the 12V port inside the car, letting you jump a battery without lifting the hood. This Cobra Jumpack jump starter also doubles as a source of backup power for mobile devices.
Q: canI leave this jumper in the car even if it is freezing cold or in hot temperature? Thank you!
A: Freezing cold no problem until down around -20°F. That is my experience when most batteries show problems. NiCd, NiMH, Lead Acid, Sealed Lead Acid, alkaline, carbon zinc etc all suffer from reduced output capacity. Lithium does to, but to a lesser degree. Don't store in heat. Battery may vent at extreme, deactivate at minimum. Look in manual for max temp. I keep mine in a small cooler under the seat. Keeps from heating up when not in use during day. During winter operations, cooler helps keep warm particularly if is plugged in. Approx 60° inside cooler, booster is charge maintained, and overnight low is sub-zero between omg and etc. Booster chills quickly in open air, capacity problems creep in.
A: No, the port typically used to charge phone is the rectangular USB port. This will use a round port, about inch in diameter, to plug into. Used to be called Cigarette Lighters, now called 12v Auxillary or 12v Power Ports.
