Q: Is this DRM Free or do you need to insert the CD to play the game? Since the game doesnt work with Steam?

A: The game comes with an one time registration code that is tied to your Square Enix account. Once you activate that code you no longer need the disc. They are used just for installation purposes.

Q: It's been a very long time since I played FF, so I'm not familiar with the online versions. If I purchase this complete Edition, will there be an additional monthly fee to play the game? Or is this ok just to install and play?

A: No, there is not a month subscription required to play this edition of Final Fantasy.

Q: I don’t have a dvd-rom on my computer. Is there a way to just use the activation code and download the game from square-Enix?

A: Absolutely. You can download the client right from the FFXIV site at any time and just put the activation code from the box in when prompted. I did exactly this with my copy because my drive decided to stop working with this disc inside.

Q: is best buy going to have the MAC OS version available for pre-order?

A: undefined

Q: Will this work on steam or the standard client?

A: It does not work on steam. If you have the original game on steam you must purchase the dlc content via steam.

Q: Do I get a code to start playing the first two expansions now or do I have to wait until stormblood comes out when I preorder this collection.

A: From what I gather, you get everything at the same time buying this version, so you have to wait until StormBlood comes out before getting to play any of the expansions. If you are trying to get a head start, I suggest just preordering the standalone StormBlood expansion then purchasing a download of a similar "complete" edition that just has the original and Heavensward expansion in the same download, which is similar in price as the complete edition that is coming soon. Best MMORPG Out There
Whichever platform you play on doesn't matter the game is aesthetically pleasing and the gameplay keeps me coming back there is so much to do in the world that you'll lose track of time. The game is cross-platform which means you can use your account on both wondows and PS4 which is how I play. If you don't know already the game has a subscription but paying money every 2 months has made the game change overtime. It is the only MMORPG that I have made time to review and i hope the game will be the same for you.

One of the best on the market today
FFXIV Online is the first game of the genre I've played and so far I'm pretty impressed. It offers all the things a AAA title should and gives you plenty of content besides combat to totally waste your time on. It is graphically beautiful, one of the best I've seen with complete day/night and weather cycles to give the environment a realistic sense of change and realism. Character animations are mostly great and it is the only game I've played that allows you to do everything the game has to offer on just one single character. All classes, Jobs, and Crafting can be done on one character instead of having to create an army for bank alts, crafting masters, etc... For new players, it can seem a little lonely because of the lack of a world chat feature (due to spam and RMT prevention) so my advice to anyone new starting is to chat it up with people you see and try to get into a Free Company (guild) so you have like-minded people to play with. Since I'm new myself, I still have a lot to do in the game, but there is SO MUCH to discover that I'll be busy for a long time coming. I'd say if you're looking for a high-fantasy, Japanese stylized game, then give this a shot. You certainly get your money's worth.
