Hi Tina! Thank you for reaching out. In an air conditioner, an inverter is an energy-saving technology that controls the speed of the compressor motor. Instead of continuously turning fully on and fully off like a traditional unit, an inverter AC smoothly adjusts its power to maintain a constant, comfortable temperature, which drastically lowers your electricity bill. We hope this helps! - Patrick
