A: Kit design is poor. It is too big for a normal 27" hole. You have to make modifications!!!!!! Exact dimentions should be given in GE's site.
Q: How thick is the trim from the inside rectangle to the outside rectangle?

A: These ONLY FIT the spcific models as stated by GE. It has to do with the swing pattern of the door and the exhaust circulation for the units. I would not try to improvise as the mountings are also specific. Good luck
