Q: Are the cooking knobs metal or plastic, and are they embossed or just stickers?

Q: is this top convertable to propane
A: This cooktop leaves the factory set for use with natural gas. If you want to convert to propane gas, the conversion must be performed by a qualified propane gas installer. The conversion orifices and instructions can be found attached to the regulator. Lauren@GEAppliances
A: This model would be a great addition to your home. This unit will fit in the same space as your current unit.
Q: Is there a griddle accessory that is compatible with this cooktop?
A: Model JGP3036SLSS is not compatible with a griddle. We do have other gas cooktops, such as PGP7030SLSS, that are compatible with an optional griddle.
A: It seems to be a baked-on enamel on steel. You'd have to read the specs the company supplies. My last cooktop was a GE Profile and I loved it. This is the modern version of that cooktop.

Quality Affordable Option
I purchased this stove for a rental property. So far everything has gone well. Delivery was smooth and easy as always with Best Buy. We used our own handyman to install the stovetop but went in with no problems. Hopefully it will last for many years without issue. I will update this review if anything changes.
